The Best CD player under $1000.
I have a Rotel 1072 as well. A steal at $400 - $500, and I've heard the new Rotel CDP, the Bryston, the Rega Apollo, and a few others. I like it with and without my Dac1. It's your money and your ears though.
Total spent on music vs equipment?
968 CD's209 LP'smany music downloads from .99 to 4.99My guesstimate may be off a bit (o: I'm guessing my average cost per CD is higher than $15 because I have many, many high quality CD's that bump the average up. Soon enough myself and everyone o...
Total spent on music vs equipment?
"Hat's off to you for spending more on music than equipment!!!"Not included in that total is my massive LP collection (I inherited my dad's LP's and continued collecting my own LP's into my early thirties) I sold-off for peanuts. At least I should...
OPPO 83 and Benchmark DAC 1
Thanks again undertow. I think my LFD integrated amplifier is pretty limited on inputs, but I'll check it out.
OPPO 83 and Benchmark DAC 1
Thanks undertow for clearing a few things up. For the price the Oppo seems great to play my CD's, HDCD's, SACD's, DVD's, and BR DVD's from one box. I know I can use my Dac1 Pre through the Oppo to improve the standard CD play. I may be able to use...
OPPO 83 and Benchmark DAC 1
I have a few comments on the Oppo BDP-83 which have been on my mind as I've been on the lookout for a play-all disc player that won't break the bank. Given: The Oppo BP-83 is a bargain considering its disc playing capabilities. Capacity for firmwa...
The best CD Player for the money
"Stonedtemplepilotwhy do you want to invest in stoneage technology ? moving parts, vibration damping, CD cleaning ....look into Cambridge Dacmagic, Logitech Duet, Peachtree, Linn Majik DS, Weiss DAC 2, Prism Orpheus"Reply to old thread: I can't he...
a DUAL turntable question...
I bought a CS-721 while in living in Germany back in the 70's. Loved that turntable. Then again I loved my Revox reel-to-reel too. Still have my Kenwood KT-8300 tuner from that time. Note to young: Just because stuff is old school doesn't mean it ...
How is Rotel RCD-1520 CD player? Anyone owns one?
I have heard the 1520. Own the 1072. I notice a little better from the 1520. A little better. Thing is I also own a Dac 1 Pre. With the 1072 and the Dac 1 Pre why buy another CDP till my 1072 dies? That last question is rhetorical folks!
Why manufactures donĀ“t burn in their amps and ...
I'll change my stock powercords when audio engineers such as LFD's Dr.Bews and design engineers at Benchmark Media supply/sell ones they stand behind as providing sonic improvements with their products. Another words, very likely they'll be no pow...
Best Cable Match for LFD LE III and Proac D Two
I have LFD Spiroflex wires, some Mapleshade Helix's, some 10G Blue Jeans Cables, and a few others. They all sound more or less the same to me. I hear others go on and on about nuances in cables. Just a matter of time before some knob quips: "..the...
Cheap tweaks...What would YOU reccomend?
Here in the Sedona area some twirl crystals around the object of attention, but you could just as well get some temporary audio catharsis by draining your bank account and imagining you hear a difference with expensive tweaks. There was a fellow o...

Proac D Two & LFD LE III
Sure. I have LFD Spirowire cables that retail for $399. which came with my LFD LE III. (I also have a set of Blue Jean Cables which are 10G copper that are impossible to differentiate from the LFD wire if you test blind). I must admit I'm not a fa...
Proac D Two & LFD LE III
Dear Notec,I have the LED LE III & Harbeth Compact 7ES-3. I have heard Proac's, but not the D Two's. I have also had the pleasure of hearing the Supernait. I have not had a lot of time listening to my LFD LE III with my Harbeth's, but enough n...
