Jadis JA30 Mk2, how great??? Appreciate your response to the questions I threw at you Egoben, very descriptive! I do think to an extent it might be an apples to oranges comparison as the newer Jadis has likely moved to a bit more universal sound & possibly improved drive...
Jadis JA30 Mk2, how great??? Hi GWALT, thanks for the input on your JA30! You have some really nice equipment and a great-looking room…….appears to be quite a large space as well, does the Jadis have any issues energizing it? Also, I didn’t see what those red power cords ar...
Jadis JA30 Mk2, how great??? Hi Egoben, thanks for offering input on your JA30. Can you tell us how old it is and what type of output tubes you are using? And if possible, how efficient your speakers are and how well the amp drives them, especially in the bass frequencies? ...
Jadis JA30 Mk2, how great??? Sorry it has taken so long to post this, but I did check with the folks at Brooks Berdan audio as to price and availability for the MkII version, and it turns out to be a bit complicated. They do not have a unit in-store for audition, nor do they...

Jadis JA30 Mk2, how great??? Not sure how great it might be, but after hearing the Jadis I-50 integrated with KT150 output tubes I’d be interested in finding out. Appears that Jadis is updating many of their amps to accommodate these tubes, and the JA30 MkII is the latest to...
Tube integrated with real bass. Does it exist? Hi Trelja, happy there is someone here with such wide-ranging Jadis experience. By chance, any familiarity with the newish I-50 integrated? Sounded great with Spendor at the Newport show; 50wpc with KT150 tubes (and upgraded transformers to handle...
Janszen za2.1 vs nola metro grand ref series2 Brad - Like Pryso, I too own the Janszen's, though only for a month or so. Recommend a SPDIF cable Just want to give a shout-out to Hifimaniac for recommending the Snake River Audio Boomslang cable. I'm auditioning it now via Jonny's 30 day trial and it is terrific.....beautiful both to look at and to hear. Nice tone and full sounding, with gre...
JansZen Z A2.1 Loudspeakers? Thanks for the additional input, Pryso. I actually read your Speaker Asylum comments a while ago when I started researching these speakers, and appreciate the additional comments here. Now trying to decide between the JansZen and the Magico S1, wi...
JansZen Z A2.1 Loudspeakers? Mrbill, Pryso (or anyone else), any further follow-up thoughts on these speakers after break-in? Heard them at RMAF and remain intrigued......and I really miss my Acoustats but room is a bit too small for these. Would welcome any further comments ...
Does Avalon speakers have a house sound? Anyone have any experience with the Avalon Idea? From everything I've read (no personal experience) this newest/smallest model is more of a rock n roll speaker. If so, is this perhaps a subtle or not so subtle change in their `house sound'?
Favorite Female vocals that give you goose bumps She's been mentioned quite a few times already, but listen to Linda Rondstadt doing `Adios', a song written by Jimmy Webb with Brian Wilson producing and providing backing vocals (Cry Like a Rainstorm album). The final note that she hits always se...
What is a very nice sounding tube preamp? EAR 864 is a great sounding pre designed by Tim de Paravicini with output transformers, balanced operation, and includes a phono stage. Should be able to find used at a good price. |
