Blue Point No. 2 on a RB250
The BP2 sounds good (sometimes very good) on lightweight arms. For the medium mass RB250 I don't think it's a good match, it sounds noticeably less open.
VPI HW 16,5 vs. Okki Nokki
I've used both and ended up preferring the Okki Nokki. The advantages over the VPI:1. It's quieter2. Spins in both directions3. Platter runs indefinitely without getting hot.4. Aluminum outer casingThe one thing the Okki Nokki lacks is a proven tra...
Phono Section, Preamp, gain matching for noise
I'm not sure exactly what the question is myself, but I do use an Avid Pulsus. You need to use at least the 60db setting (or even the 70db setting) on the phono stage for a cartridge with that low an output.I would forget about the "10:00 - 2:00" ...
Is Ortofon Rondo Bronze MC really low rider??
No, it should not run that low.My Rondo Blue (same weight and compliance) is set at 2.3g VTF and it's a good amount above the record.
Which MC for my setup?
The Ortofon Rondo Blue ($800) is an awesome cart for rock albums and if loaded properly you will get extended (but not bright) treble, strong bass and a very prominent natural and uncolored midrange.
Official fix for Project TT rumble now available
Should be available to Canadian dealers (w/60 hZ pulley) as of this week.
Nitty Gritty 1.5Fi vs. VPI HW16.5vs. Okki Nokki
Okki Nokki has gone up to $599, $649 w/cover. Not as great a deal anymore. It's a lot quieter than the VPI, you can actually listen to music or carry on a conversation over the phone while the vacuum is running.
Project TT this way or Project TT that way
Between those two I would get the Xperience Classic, it's a better table with a superior arm. A certain online store (not sure if I'm allowed to give the name) has all three finishes for $1199 right now, there is also a 10% off code you can use - ...
Getting Into Analog-Vinyl For The First Time......
Not many people here would agree but I would take the Pro-Ject RM-5 SE (actually 5.1 now) over the P3-24. My dealer sells both and recommended the Pro-Ject, after listening to them side by side I agreed. Both of these tables will need their option...
Turntable dust covers
I just got one from JMK displays as well. I faxed them my rear cut-outs and recieved the product with the exact dimensions and cut-outs that I had requested. It is beautifully finshed and I am 100% happy with it.
Benz Ace vs Ortofon Rondo
Exacerbate, not exasperate - really should preview posts before I hit submit. :)
Benz Ace vs Ortofon Rondo
Jarraa,If you already have noise in the system a LOMC would probably serve to exasperate it, not make it easier. The Graham Slee is an excellent phono amp but after reading your post I'm not so sure that is #1 problem right now. Do you have the Sp...
Benz Ace vs Ortofon Rondo
Just a note: checked your previous thread and noticed you have only had the TT for a month - unless the cart has had heavy use it is not broken in yet, it needs at least 50 hours and better yet 75. Also, take the money you were going to spend on a...
Benz Ace vs Ortofon Rondo
I assume you have the 9cc arm and that is too light for a Denon DL-103R so that should be out of the running. I haven't compared those two carts (have heard a Benz Ace) but what is it that you do not like about the Blue Point No. 2? In my opinion ...
HELP: Noise from new Pro-Ject Debut III
It sounds like it could be debris on the stylus. Have you brushed/cleaned the stylus since you got the player? It should be cleaned every 5-10 albums at a minimum, more often if the records are dirty.
