Quad 63 amp advice
I think you will be fine as long as the amp is OK with the impedance of the Quad.I ran ESL-63s with a Beard P-35 (2x35W PP EL34), it sounded lovely and I never felt short on power.Jon 
Snell Type A- any info??????
I had a pair Snell A3i from 1991 until I sold them in 1999 (I got married and the WAF is very low). They are great speakers.

Opinions on Pioneer PD 91 and PD93 CD Players.
I had a PD-91 that I bought in 1988, it looked fantastic in shiny black and was quite heavy.The suond was OK, but it was blown away five years later when I upgraded to a PD-95.

You can get a used Pass Aleph 30 or Aleph 3 for that price. I have the Aleph 30 (bought used for 1025 here) and it excels in all the points that are important to you and the 30W doesn't seem to be an issue for you.
