If i had the money.....
Hi Sean, I hope you somehow get the money for these amps. Half the fun is finally getting what you want. The other half is the frustration on the long wait on getting what we want. At least you know what it is you want. You have half the battle be...
Dylan SACD-good news.
Drubin, Thank you very much for taking the time to pass this information along. I will follow your advice, and again, I thank you much.
Where have all the protest songs gone?
I suppose the same place where all the flowers have gone.Dylan's songs maybe 30 years old and then some. They are as relevant today as yesterday. Kind of like remaking gone with the wind. Why bother? Come senators, congressmen please heed the call...
Pass X 250 vs. Classe CA 301 The final decision
Hi Muralman 1, I respect your point of view. The Pass X350 I used was with only one pair of speakers. This could be one of those times where this combination was not a good match. I did point out some very fine qualities of both these amps. It jus...
Pass X 250 vs. Classe CA 301 The final decision
Hi Jrud, I do not mean any disrespect to anyone who think these two amps are not worthy in a high resolution system. They both do things very well. Both are transparent, clean, grainless and offer enough power for most speakers. IMO, they both fai...
Dylan SACD-good news.
Thanks so much Ben for sharing the "Dylan SACD-good news". I guess it is time to look for an SACD player. I have yet to dive into the SACD format. Now I have good reason to do so. I guess I will be owning two CDP players. I can't think of a better...
Sonus Faber Cremona
Hi Zaikesman, the Amanti Hoamge has little competition from the Cremona. IMO, no comparison should be made. I like the Cremona, i thought it to be very musical, never bright, or do they start to where you down after long listening sessions. I foun...
Maple, solid vs butcher block, vs other materials
Hi Drrdiamond, I have tried all the materials mentioned. I have used maple, MDF (terrible stuff) glass, corian, marble, granite, steel, lead, sandboxes, many types of feet, spikes along with Mapleshades triple points. I agree with Warrenh's opinio...
What makes more sense?
Hi Musiqlovr, IMO, a tube amp with SS pre would be my choice. some SS amps do not always work well with with tube preamps. You will have more magic of what tubes offer with the tube amp than the tube preamp. The Cary V-12 and the Music Reference R...
HELP Electrocompaniet stole Christmas
Jcbtubes, once again you have made a valid point. I didn't mean to put anyone on the spot. Thanks for your input and not putting the hammer to my head. Though i know it was hard for you to resist. I am still hearing those voices. Need some more of...
Cheap tweaks...What would YOU reccomend?
So many great tips. Ebarker2 advice is next to nothing in cost but great advice. Dedicated lines are not practical for many but if possible one of the greatest tweaks. Good qualityOutlets, keeping all connections clean, keep PCs and wires off one ...
Hi end audio who cares
I enjoy non audiophile comments. They always seem so surprised that a stereo can be an experience than just a pair of speakers playing stereo. I also love the terms they use in describing the sound they hear. I never hear words like accurate, neut...
What music rang in your New Year
Dylan's "a Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall"
Record sleeves?
Like Jsbail I also liked rice paper. Maybe Albertporter will chime in. Got a feeling he would know best.
$500 total to get into vinyl, what would you buy?
Hi Socrates, once in a great while I have seen the Well Tempered TT with the W.T. tone arm for $500. An excellent TT even if you may have to spend an extra $100 or two. Keep an eye out. Not one of the best looking TT but will compete or better man...
