Hiss and Hum in a system newly put together Cable TV can really screw things up. When I was using Direct TV I had no HUM, when I switched to Digital Cable. All Hell Broke Lose, and I had HUM
New Cambridge CD player, a real sleeper? The New Cambridge is nice, but I found the New Acram DV78 price about 900-1000, much better. I just listened to them both back to back and the difference was noticeable, FYI they also use Wolfson DAC. 78 is the DVD version.
Hiss and Hum in a system newly put together I have had several systems that I had to trouble shoot humming out of. The first had to do with a Ground loop at the Wall Plug, that was easily fixed by a 3 prong, 2 prong adaptor. The second problem I had, dealt with a hum from Cable TV coming in...
SACD or DVD Audio, which one is winning the race? I have a DVD-A PLayer, but really, I enjoy the DTS music just as much
B&K Ref 50 Processor I agree, I have a Ref 507 and for HT and DVD-A, I really think it sounds very good, but of course I only paid $2500 for the unit new(yes $2500 for a 507). As for 2 channel it's not great but thats what my Pass Labs system is for. If your going to ...
Digital cable recommendation I have used several Digital Cables, XLO, Audioquest, and in my system I found Tara Labs Air Digital, to be the warmest and most liquid sounding. You should be able to pick one up used for close to $200. Also I'm not running the best equipment anym...
Why my system has detail but no body & warm vocal? I have to agree with these posts, after looking at your equipment I think itprobably has a bright but detailed sound. I had a system and was very much the same, I switched the cables from AQ to XLO and tara. And that made helped but of course I do...
Best integrated for under $7000 I have not heard the Mcintosh,(But I'm sure it's nice) I have listened to the YBA the step under the Passion Series. I know the there is a guy Bill in Phoenix that owns Speakers Ect. that sells YBA, and has it hooked with both a YBA CD and a Elect...
Have problem choosing cables XLO or Tara Labs ?? I switched to XLO Ref 2 Interconnects and Type 5, I beleive it was in my system, I was using Tara labs and Audioquest. But found the XLo was as fast as the Audioquest and but with the Warmth of the Tara. Hope that helps,EquipmentPass Labs Aleph 2 ...
Warm and Wet cables? On My system I always used XLO cables and Tara Labs. I found that Audioquest was to bright for my system and Tara was almost to laid back, But warm in my opinion, I used the Air 2's Interconnects. With XLO Speaker Cables, They very fast with excel...
Amp for Mirage OM-10's I personally think B&K equipment matches well with Mirage Speakers. And you pick an older 202 for under $1000.00. B&K does a good job on DTS and DD movies, and has a seperate zone for Music.
Used Pass 600monos or Rowland 8TiHC? Never owned a Rowland or heard one for that matter, but I can tell you I had a pair of Aleph 2's. And the customer service at Pass was second to none.
Moving from Pass Labs Aleph 5 to Aleph 2 I was using a pair of Aleph 2's, Aleph P, and some home made speakers, I know this is going to sound wackey but I switched up power cords and interconnects and I could not tell the difference between any of them, I switched between, XLO, Audioques...
Mirage - great customer service I have also had excellent service from the people at Mirage, I had a subwoofer that had a developed a hum in it. I shipped the guts back to them and they tested it every which way couldn't find anything, I hooked it back up and the hum started aga...
B&K ref. 20 or Sunfire TG1 I have a ref 20 and a really like it, but I think you can get a Lexicon DC-1 that is maxed out and upgraded for close to $1500(although it has been awhile since I priced them). My belief is that the DC-1 is better the Ref 20, for HT. |
