Buyer's remorse - your worst purchase? Back the 80's I wanted new speakers. I had to have Polk, just because my cousin had some and he said they were good. I was going to buy Polk 10's, that's all I can remember of the name. When I went to buy, they were having a sale on Polk SDA 12c's...

Tuner Questions Before the crash, didn't someone mention the McIntosh MR78 as a great tuner?
Suggestions for a 'good' FM antenna? Just to follow up, I started this post, I bought the Fanfare FM-2G antenna. Also, I am replacing the old Sansui tuner I just purchased with a Fanfare FT-1A, it is being shipped.
Mis-Matching Cables for Bi-Wired Speakrs Years back I used AudioQuest Midnight for lows and Cardas Quadlink 5 Series for highs. As the post above says, try it and see how it sounds. The only thing I would mention is both sets of wires should be the same length.
Tuner Questions Keiman421, it sounds like we are/were looking at the same tuners. I have read many good things about the Magnum Dynalab tuners. The Etude has a great reputation and has been around for years. I have read a Stereophile report on the Fanfare FT-1, t...
Tuner Questions Thanks Whatjd, you are encouraging me all the more to buy the new tuner; I am planning on the Fanfare FT-1A. I am looking forward to hearing FM in a new light and hearing music I wasn't aware of.
Do Silver Cables Hurt Bass? Wow, I cannot answer all those questions Telja. First of all, the JPS cables I bought are balanced, so I am limited as to where I can run them. I bought them because it was reported my amp and preamp were designed for balanced cables and would wor...
Do Silver Cables Hurt Bass? Trelja, I use JPS cables and have been happy with them. The only negative I can say of *mine* is that they are the orginals, before they had flexible ends. JPS cables are very stiff and w/o the ends being flexible, it makes things very difficult!
TO upgrade or NOT, that is the question! Sugarbrie, don't leave out Magnum Dynalab's receiver. Their receiver looks very impressive and I read a very favorable review on it.
Do Silver Cables Hurt Bass? Years back I bought some bannana's to make life easier in hooking up my amp, I was bi-wiring and the two sets of spades would not easily fit on the post of the amp. I could not believe how much these degraded the sound!! I did not keep them.
Do Silver Cables Hurt Bass? I went to their Web site Trelja, and I must say it sounds very interesting! Anyone else try these? What about better RCA's, would it be benificial to buy other RCA's such as WBT's?
Do Silver Cables Hurt Bass? Does anyone have experience with Kimber KCAG, they are silver?
Suggestions for a 'good' FM antenna? I have a C Band dish (the big one for those who don't know). Can I use that in any way to pick up local stations? |
