Wadia 170i -- Worth the Efort and Cost? Same results as Jpainter for me, I am extreemly happy with the purchase; I really like not having to switch CDs in and out and the shuffle option is awesome. It may not be for everyone but it works for me.Brian

We all can believe, and post, what we want, but for me there are a few things that have been said that don't match my experience......the WP 7 has a titanium tweeter which suffers from resonance problems that will drive you out of the room with gr...
How did we get into this crazy hobby? It was fun reading the replies to this thread and forced me to think back. You all have some vivid memories! Some moments I can recall...Sitting on a little wooden stool between the buclet seats of my Dads 1967 Chevy pickup, staring at an 8-track ...

They are not going to replace any single piece of equipment (or any combination of equipment) that puts out truly high quality...
B&W 803d, Martin Logan Spire, Klipsch P-37F? Tweeter repalcement is $150 instead of $1200. I think the need to do so would be very rare.
McxIntosh Ohm Match for B&W 803s Try all taps yourself and see what you like.FWIW, I contacted Mac some years ago and they suggested the 4ohm taps for B&W.
Amp Config for B&W 802D's If you go the McIntosh route, I'd opt for the 501's over the 402.
Tone controls- to use or not? I'm with Ruebent. Sometimes we are our own worst enemies. If adjusting your tone control gives you greater enjoyment in your playback, by all means do so. Sounds easier than chasing other gear to accomplish the task.

Wadia iTransport problem The iPod does have a "clicking" option, which can be heard with either my head phones or through my speakers when used with the iTransport. While it doesn't bother me with my headphones, it does when used in my system. I went into the setting of my...

WAV vs. AIFF Thanks James. I have always done everything in Apple Lossless but have read the arguements of uncompressed formats, like WAV and AIFF vs. Lossless, a battle that probably will not end. At this point, storage is not an issue, I have plenty, so I wa...
