Audio Note M6 vs ARC Ref 3 Preamps...
Hi,I was not a ARC fan until their recent products. A friend of mine owns the REF 3 and it sounds fantastic. I've also had chance to play with the new Ref 5 and it sounds is even better. On the other hand, having owned, demoed, and listened to man...
Pass Labs amps and Avantgarde speakers
For the past five years, I've owned Avantgarde Duo Primos. Prior to that, I owned Avantgarde Duos for four years. During that time, I have owned or demoed many many amps with Avanatgarde loudspeakers. I'm currently running the First Watt M2 with A...
Resolution Audio - Cantata
Hi,I agree with Ken. The Resolution Audio Cantata series products are absolutely fantastic sounding pieces! They look great as well. They sound great for both redbook and computer audio. A couple of weeks ago, I spent an afternoon demoing and comp...
BAT at CES?
They debuted their new phono cartridges. They have two different models. The sound in their room on the first day of the show was a little bit edgey. That seemed to go away over the next few days.

YG Acoustics vs. Avantgarde Duo series comparison?
Mike or Argyro or whatever your name is, are your bored? This is your sixth post in this thread and the only thing you have managed to do is show your ignorance. We are all quite taken with your loudspeaker measurement expertise and are not worthy...
YG Acoustics vs. Avantgarde Duo series comparison?
I've owned Avantgarde Duos 2.1 for several years and currently own Avantgarde Duo Primos. I have listened to the YG's at several shows during the last couple of years. I like both of them. I think they have a lot in common. They are both very dyna...
Moving/shipping Avantgarde speakers
I second the Craters & Freighters recommendation. The former U.S. Avantgarde Distributor used them extensively to crate & ship Avantgarde loudspeakers. I used them once to ship a pair of Avantgarde 230 subs. They were great and reasonably ...
One off my Audiopax 88s has gone up in smoke.
Casouza,With all due respect, what was the point of your post? To shift some of the blame to Charles or make excuses for Audiopax? The fact of the matter is that in March 2009, Charles tried to reach out to Audiopax to get his amplifiers repaired....
One off my Audiopax 88s has gone up in smoke.
Charles,I am very happy to hear that you finally got your amplifiers fixed. I'm a little shocked, that after taking nearly two years to fixed your amps that you're thanking Audiopax. You are one patient and understanding individual. If it were me,...
First Watt to Pass Labs
Great thread. I'm very interested in the First watt amps as well. Luckily, I have 107 db efficient horns and just assumed that the First Watt amps would sound better on efficient loudspeakers. Is that the case? Has anyone actually compared First W...
warm up time resolution audio opus 21
Count me as another one that keeps the RA Opus 21 in the stand-by mode and it always sounds great. However, I don't ever recall it sounding bad, even when it was new and breaking-in. If it takes two hours to sound "right", then I would think somet...
BAT Thoughts.....
My first really high-end system consisted of the following:BAT VK-500 AmpTwo VK-60 Monoblock ampsBAT VK-50SE PreampBAT VK-D5SEThe temprature in my room would reach 100+ degrees within an hour or so. It was unbearable. To say that BAT gear runs hot...
Why hasnt yamamoto A-o11 gotten more love?
I hate to break-up the Yamamoto love-fest, but since you asked, this might be one of the reasons why they don't get more love:http://www.stereophile.com/tubepoweramps/306yamamoto/index3.htmlI'm not real big on measurements, but even these raised m...
