SRA VR vs. Ohio
The SRA platforms are very good. I don't know if they have changed the design so they can be adapted to be used with different components or whether each is custom designed to work with a specified component. In any event at the prices of many of ...
wadia 581, accuphase dp75, aero capital mkII, Mbl
Dazzdax, I heard the AMR at CES and was thoroughly impressed. Analog is my reference, and I see the AMR as being much closer to the music than other players. I cannot speak for reliability but have no reservations about the designers and the compa...
Questions about and source for Kuzma Reference tt
I recommend that you call the distributor, Elite Audio Video Distribution in Los Angeles, 323-466-9694, and ask for Peder Beckman (extension 21) who will direct you to your nearest dealer.I am a Kuzma dealer, located in the Chicago area.Brian Walsh
Blind Shoot-out in San Diego -- 5 CD Players
Ctm_cra: I see no justification after the fact for omitting the details of the system and the room. Magazines and online publications list details, and since this discussion is fairly involved it would be appropriate to do so here so as to interpr...
Blind Shoot-out in San Diego -- 5 CD Players
Intriguing but not entirely relevant. Not description was included in the opening post on associated equipment used, the room, etc. except a little by Alex who mentions Pipedreams (unspecified model), some unknown model of Lamm amps, and some mode...
How big a room for Dunlavy SC-V?
Yes, the speakers are too big for the room and will overload it with bass. Dunlavys need large rooms to perform. I recommend finding a speaker that will give high performance but not require a large room. Line source dipoles are an example of that...

>>I loved them :)<<You should. You're the distributor. Not to mention owner of the company. Does it get any more transparent than that?
Atmasphere Novacron MA1.5 amp with Merlin VSMSE
Atma-Sphere makes preamps, too, which happen to be especially good with their amps.Sue Kraft's Novacrons differ from anything that came from the factory, but yes, she likes them. It was interesting to read her comments in a review she did of anoth...
Acapella vs. Avantgarde
Whart, one of my customers had Duos and tweaked them by having much more rigid frames built for them. He reported they made a substantial improvement, to a point. I think the comments about the woofers not integrating are accurate, which is I thin...
Any Revisions to the Lector CDP7?
The current Mk 3 version has been out for a few months. I don't see it changing.
Audio Shows - CES and what else?
Harrygoldsmith, Stereophile had announced on their website before their show last year that this year's show was going to be in Chicago. But that didn't happen because they were firm about wanting to hold it at the Palmer House Hilton, and by the ...
Audio Shows - CES and what else?
Have been attending CES for many years. To see everything takes more than a day or two, in my experience, so I attend all four days and find it worthwhile. Although audiophiles can usually finagle their way in, I don't know if I can recommend it f...
Opportunity to buy the best Preamp... but which?
Jfz, the last CTC Blowtorch to be completed is available, although perhaps not for long. It is a classic but is too much trouble to build.
Anyone hear the new C.A.T. Legend pre at the CES?
I heard it. Ken Stevens was using it with a JL2 Signature Mk II and Ascendo loudspeakers. I don't recall the digital source. Considering the abysmal room acoustics I thought it sounded excellent. Had a great time; Ken's an interesting, nice fellow.
