2 months ago I bought a demo Shengya CD player with 1 year warranty (for a super good price) from local electronics retailer.Shengya is actually OEM for Vincent. Vincent CD/Amp was highly praised by soundstage a few months ago. www.audioadvisor.co...

Thanks for the replies guys, you are guys are so smart.Ok, my listening is 80% music, 20% HT. I prefer tight musical fast bass as opposed to deep & slow.My 1st sub and 2nd potential sub will both have Xover frequency, phase adjust and of cours...
Marantz or NAD
I've had 3 NAD amps/receivers (entry level & mid level) and recently bought a Marantz AVR for HT and very happy with my purchase. My Comparison:1. Sound: Even though NAD brags more about their Hifi heritgage, the Marantz sounded just as good in...
How to use stand alone pre-amp with HT?
Hey, guys great answer so far.So....what preamp (SS or tube) under 1500K new or used has HT bypass?
What is Better? SS Amp+Tube CD OR Tube Amp+SS CD
Thanks for opinions guys.My friend actually has opposite opinion regarding digital vs. amp. His view is to have neutral/clean amplification as much as possible with quality SS amp and let the "front end" color the sound. This way, he says, if you ...
new Jolida
I found "Jolida JD100S" cd player on Ebay and a few asian websites. Players looks very cool and seems to be improved version of JD100A.Then I phoned Jolida and they said this is gray market player with inferior parts and that they are working on i...

Tube CD Player Recommendations

Tube CD Player Recommendations
Thanks for all the picks guys. I'm not too worried about volatage difference, usually all is needed is voltage converter which can be thrown in for free. But a good point is the warranty/servicing issues that might arise. I'm also not too worried a...

Tubes or Sand for Totem Arro under 1k?
I own Arros with 302b and have no complaints or itch to upgrade. My only complaint is Arros lack deep bass but for office and casual listening should suffice. This is a good combo and I would recommend you save your money for a good CDP.
Totem Beaks
I owned beaks for my Totem Arros for 6 months and sold them. Tried different configurations, blind tests with/without beaks (and right only half time). Conclusions: Looks cool, but not worth MSRP, buy it used on audiogon or ebay for a try
2 channel SACD vs Multichannel SACD players...
I don't know if I misunderstand what Eldaford is trying to say. But I tell you my "Fourplay" DVD-A disc has BOTH stereo and multi channel mode option and NOT just mulitchannel mixed down to stereo by my DVD player.
DVD player used as a CD player good/bad
I agree with the comments about using analog connections to your receiver instead of digital (and using the receiver's dacs). There is night and day difference when I connect my toshiba sd5700 thru analog to my NAD T752 receiver...simply the toshi...
$500 mini system suggestions, Bose need not apply
Get the Denon mini system (forget which model) or the Teac Reference series. Both look classy and sound great. Forget about Bose.
