Not recognized in their lifetime?
Kings XPerhaps the most underappreciated rock band of all time. They did make VH1's top-100 rock bands of all time (#83), but no one seems to know them. They were mis-labeled early on as a Christian band, in the day when that was a commerical deat...

Ideas? PowCords for deHavilland GM70 SETamps
We have the APL 3910 as well, Tom. The Electraglide PC's work beautifully on source equipment. We're running a Mini Khan Plus, and might try the Ultra Khan or Epiphany at some point. The Michael Wolff cords are excellent as well, though not quite ...
Jolida JD100 better that the Rega Planet 2000?
We owned the Planet, and then the Planet 2000. When we bought a Jolida JD-100, we sold the Rega the next day. Definitely change the tubes in the Jolida, and upgrade the PC if money permits. In terms of engagement and performance, I believe the Jol...
Good percussion
Scansp7,I just spent a few hours yesterday listening to percussion-oriented music at Duanegoosen's. I've been drumming for nearly thirty years, and if you want some excellent recommendations, I'd work your way through his posted list. Excellent st...

Tom,What PC are you using on the APL? That's where I would put the effort first, if you've not already done so. With the amps, I've had excellent results with the Z-Squared Elite I cables, which can be had on auction or used for around $250 each. ...
Want to experience tubed CDP?
Jh20s,When buying used, you can recoup most--if not all--of your money should you decide to re-sell. Therefore, I would suggest buying the best player you can. I have owned the Rega Planet, the Planet 2000, the Jolida JD-100, and the AA Prima. The...
A question to you all........
Albert,Obviously, you don't proof your own photos. Either that,or you're with Stacy right now.
Jolida JD100 on the way
Not to pull the thread away from the discussion, but you might also experiment with power cords. When we had the JD-100, an upgrade to a pricey PC really opened up the midrange.Enjoy that player. It's very good.

I forgot to respond to your other point, Marco, which is to say that I've yet to pull the Jergens from the shelf while logged on to the 'gon. So when I yearn for good porn, I'm sorry but you fellers just don't get me excited in THAT way. Though I ...

Marco,Sorry for the confusion with my post. I'm having a rough time physically, and from hour to hour it seems to affect my clarity as well as my mood. Hopefully, neck surgery in a few weeks will help to quell some yucky symptoms I've been experie...
Tube cdp's and Tubed Output cdp's
My wife and I recently went to a friend's home and listened to a variety of very fine audio equipment that he has in his stable. Of the three digital sources, we (my wife and I) established an order of preference. Interestingly, he could not hear ...
Tube cdp's and Tubed Output cdp's
What I read from your initial post Zosima was that in a CD player above $1000, a tubed output stage was somewhat unnecessary. What you said in your second post was that you felt that adding a tubed output stage to a better digital player would not...

Read the comments listed above, and you have a perfect mirror for the motivation behind the request. Maybe we should begin our responses with something truly honest, like, "Oh yeah, well here's where you're wrong...."Or perhaps something more repr...
