Harmonic Technology Cables??? Hi Carl, despite your previous negative experience with H.T. cables, if you can, try the Cyberlink Platinum cable. I would be curious to get your evaluation. Of all the various cables and tweaks I have tried recently, the Cyberlink Platinum had th...

Sony DVD-S7700 against other transports None taken No money, The audio may have been more compatible in your system.I have owned three different Sony CD players, and the DVD-S7700 and they all had a characteristic sound that I call digital "hardness". Like any company with a corporate i...
Sony DVD-S7700 against other transports I owned the Sony DVD-S7700, and sold it for the Pioneer DV-05. It may not feel as substantial, but it definitely has better sound and picture quality. The Sony was excellent, with a great remote, but no matter how hard I tried to prefer the SONY, ...

Subwoofer blues Try the REL Q-100 E that is for sale here at Audiogon. REL is highly regarded for thir pich and pace, and is cosidered one of the most "musical" subs made today. The Strat II is even better, but $600 is unlikely (though not impossible). $800 is th...
Small Dedicated Listening Room??? I also have the Nautilus 805's and suggest a REL sub. They are extremely musical and keep time perfectly with the B&W's. The Strata III is not huge and is amazing. It does more than add the low frequencies, it adds dimension and realism, and g...
Revel VS Avalon Thanks, Greysquirrel.
Inteligent high end cableing I have not tried as many brands as some of the participants here, and I don't know what would happen in a face-off with your equipment and the other brands mentioned, but, many, many people have offered testimonials to Harmonic Technology cabeling...
Revel VS Avalon Tretnet, Glad to hear from someone who has heard both speakers. I have had a similar experience with the Avolon speakers. If I analyzed aspects individually I could pick out minor weak points, but on the whole, I would be hard pressed to find a be... |
