"Power Cords-More Recent"
AudioQuest Storm Series is the best power cord I have tried.  Using Hurricanes throughout my system.  I think two things stand out with the AQ cords.  They have a very low impedance and they are dead quiet.  Great at reducing background noise and ...
When someone listens to your system for the first time.
My friends always ask, "how is that possible".  Always because the room and the speakers disappear.
Power cord choice?
If you can find a used Audioquest Thunder, that would be my pick.  I never believed in power cords other than having at least a proper gauge to provide enough current until I tried the Audioquest Storm series.  I too couldn't believe that a power ...
What DAC upgrade made you say “DAMN, that sounds SO MUCH better than my last DAC”?
Really love my PS Audio DSD.  The fact that it uses FPGA and can be updated is a real plus.  As digital technology progresses, it is nice to have a product that can be upgraded with a change in software and doesn't have to be replaced.  Also, Ted ...
Speaker Cables? why all the hype for expensive speaker wire?
Lot's of good inexpensive speaker cables out there.  That said, I definitely heard improvements when I recently moved from my Acoustic Zen Satori to my current cable, a Nordost Tyre 2. IMHO need a pretty high resolution system and a good room to p...
Clean AC power
I have been a long time believer in the benefits of AC regeneration. I used to find that I would get the best from my system late at night, especially in the Spring and Fall when the demand on the power grid was at a low point. For the last severa...
Reasonable high end interconnects: without breaking the bank
I demoed a number of cables from The Cable Company Library.  I would strongly suggest doing this.  I ended up with the Cardas Clear Reflection but tried out 5 other cables ranging in price from about $1000 to $3000.  I was surprised at the result ...
Caster Wheels vs. Spikes
Casters great for placement but once you have found he sweet spot, definitely spikes.
Where are the subs?
Recently added a REL S/5 Sho.  Connected it via the high output option.  It did add some additional bottom but more than that added a spaciousness to all my music that wasn't there before.
Used DACs in the 10k range
CK out the PS Audio Direct Stream DAC.  It is really a pretty amazing kit. It has a field gate array that can be programmed with updates.  I think you can do a 30 day trial.
Kef Blade or Kef Blade Two for bigger room
Get the Blade 2s and two REL S/5 SHOs.
The truth about why modern music is so awful.
Agree, Pop Music is pretty awful.  There are however a lot of artists and recordings that are not mainstream that are amazing.  You just have to look for them.
Best multi-purpose subwoofer
Have a Rel S/5 SHO.  This is one amazing sub.  Ck out the Rel line.
Recommendation on power amp
I would suggest auditioning a pair of the BHK 300s.  Really incredible power amps for the money.  They are about 15k, so in the price range.
Sophia Electric Blue glass
Just replaced some Sylvania 6SN7GT circa mid 1940s NOS with the Blueglass in my Cart SLP 05 SE and I have to say I am sold.  The best way I can describe it is there is some extra magic here.  Expensive but I would definitely recommend.
