System shutting down due to clipping? OK , the system still shuts down at concert level volumes. Strange thing since it never use to do that before. It has been reset to 6 ohms but that made no difference.I may try hooking up the old NAD 2700 amp I had before to see if that would cure...
System shutting down due to clipping? I was able to reset the avr to 6 ohms. At high volumes with dynamic passages it still will shut down. I think I need an extra amp for the surrounds only or else replace the speakers with 8 ohm boxes.
System shutting down due to clipping? This is not an "older model" New last year. Still under warranty.

System shutting down due to clipping? I have had this setup about a year. The shut down has only started in the last 2 months and only when I have things cranking ...like a concert dvd. The Snell center is also 4 ohms. The AVR is rated at 105 watts @ 8 ohms. The center israted at 90 d...
System shutting down due to clipping? EriktI have the Yamaha RX 1000. Not sure if it has pre outs as you mentioned. The Sonic Frontiers preamp has a bypass switch so the mains are running off 2 Aragon Palladium monoblocs. The Sub is self powered and the Yammy is also running the center.
System shutting down due to clipping? I am not sure it is heat either. The unit in on the top open shelf and doesn't seem hot. What do you think?

Spikes-Marble-Carpet-Wood Floors hmmm. the spikes I have are 2 inch aluminum cones made by Tiptoes. How much difference could there be if I change to heavy expensive brass spikes?Since the speakers are 100 lbs each I would think that the psi at the tip is very high.
Spikes-Marble-Carpet-Wood Floors I will now see if I can turn my wool rug to free up wood floorspace. then I can just spike the towers into the wood. The floors are heart pine and 2 inches thick tounge and groove. Since the house was built in 1841 that wood must be from virgin tim...
Spikes-Marble-Carpet-Wood Floors hmmmm. not much support for the granite idea. My TT is on acrylic spikes sitting on marble. I wonder if I should sandwich wood on top of that now?
Should I use 2 different Power Conditioners? So....let me get this straight. THe Monster can host the CDP and the Processor. the APC can host the Preamp, TT Blu Ray and TV . I do not have an extra outlet to plug in the amps...so where should they go? Could I split them?
