Ethernet cables
Switching one Cat6 cable for another of the same rating or higher should have no difference at all if you don’t have a serious fault somewhere in your system. If your streamer/dac or whichever unpacker the cable is connected to can’t filter the ti...
Audio Companies with Integrity??
This PS Audio? https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/ps-audio-noise-harvester-ac-cleaner-revie...if ASR can test this device and show it has no audible effect, so did the manufacturer. They still sold it though...
Ethernet cables
Calvin - if you buy this Ethernet cable, which seems to modify the data, don’t use it as part of the network you use to make the payment online, will you!Or is this cable so miraculous that it can tell the difference between the packets of data th...
Streaming Novice Question: Experience with SmallGreenComputer vs. Fidelizer Products?
I’ve recommended here before the pretty risk-free option of getting a Raspberry Pi 4 and a Allo DigiOne HAT.  About £100 all in - a bit more if you want the best HAT.  Really easy and quick to set up. Run Ropiee or equivalent on it, and in an hour...
The Absolute Sound vs Pleasing Sound
As I posted the violin link I ought to explain why I thought it was useful - I did only to contribute to the debate whether a concept of “absolute” was conceivable at all. Those newer and older violins sounded more or less pleasing to the listener...
Ethernet cables
Don’t believe me, but read this well-informed discussion and then see if you still want to spend more:https://pinkfishmedia.net/forum/threads/ethernet-cables-and-sound-quality.210983/

You know how when you had analogue TV the picture used to get better or worse depending on your aerial, cables, interference, noise, etc? But your digital TV either has a perfect picture or no picture at all?Same with audio over Ethernet compared ...
The Absolute Sound vs Pleasing Sound
Seems the issues are not clear cut even when listening live to unamplified instruments. Nice review of some blind listening to 3 modern violins and 3 classics (strads, etc). https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2017/05/million-dollar-strads-fall-modern...

Good on you Mahgister.  Me too, and my best wishes to you too.  I’m sure you will continue advocating your listened experience, and I’ll keep advocating science and measurement. We’ll keep it sweet while doing so, eh?
Game Changing Tweak
Let's see.  I'm led by science and engineering and objective evidence and build my systems using those principles to create a sound I love. You have a faith in "stones and crystals which we must link together in synergy with the ears/room/speakers ...

Guess I’d better lie down with a few crystals on my head and paint my feet blue then.
For Your Edification and Enjoyment re "Burn In", etc.
Denverfred,if you want empirical, Abbey Road Studios uses Van Damme cables throughout, 2.5km of it, at £4 per metre. If spending more than that was necessary, I think they would. Good enough for them, is good enough for me. I use it throughout too...

I particularly like this from the AddPower site:Q: Do power cords influence the Sorcer X2?A: Yes they seem to. Whatever filtering or tonal characteristics the power cord powering the X2 has, they seem to pass through to the effect the X2 has on th...

Please could those of you who trust your senses without question, who do not recognise your own confirmation biases, who don’t believe in measurement, who don’t respect the laws of physics, and who think they are immune from placebo effects, pleas...
Horn speakers , high efficiency but not “shouty”
Just like some ears prefer the characteristics of vinyl - with all its known colourings - so might some prefer the sound a horn gives them. Speaking for myself, my very large back-loaded horns are perfect for the large room we live most of our lif...
