Class D is just Dandy!
@ricred1 I got my Bel Cantos through a dealer that made me an incredible deal. I have no skin in the game whatsoever, but if you're curious about the Ref600ms, send me a message and I can forward the dealer's info.
Class D is just Dandy!
I had been planning a change in my system for quite a while that just started coming together. I went from a system that paired a Cambridge 851N DAC and ARC DSi200 integrated amp to a system that pairs a PS Audio Directstream Junior with Bel Canto...
Class D is just Dandy!
@hgeifman I'm in a similar situation. I just purchased the Bel Canto Ref600m monos and will be driving them directly with the PS Audio DirectStream Junior. The DSJ isn't quite the M1 DAC, but I hear they are both similar in the way they present mo...
Trade in value to a dealer
Great thread here. I agree that selling used gear to a dealer is usually not the best deal, especially if you have a relatively new, in-demand component. However, I've had wonderful experiences selling/trading with Echo Audio in Portland, Oregon f...
Monitor Audio Platnium II
I'm heading to a dealer in Virginia this weekend to listen to the PL300II for the first time.
How many shipments can audio equipment survive?
@czarivey I'm a bit confused by your message, but I do see this script laid over things I'm supposed to see on this webpage. I took a screenshot and sent to Audiogon support.
Separate conductors for separate frequency ranges in cables
@68pete Capital idea. I didn't mean for this thread to go negative. I genuinely thought folks might have some answers but it seems we're all stumped. I'll reach out to PS Audio and ask. I'll report back if I get a response
Separate conductors for separate frequency ranges in cables
I appreciate everyone's input. @tls49 yes, perhaps I should have emphasized the point that this PS Audio product description is for a power cable, which generates additional bewilderment.
New Bel Canto REF600M using NCORE
Steven Stone reviews the Ref 600m in the January issue of the Absolute Sound. In his conclusion, he states, “To my ears, it is good enough to qualify as the best all-around power amplifier I’ve heard to date, regardless of technology or circuit to...
What do the DEQX "plus" models offer?
I submit chapter three of my DEQX monologue to make a correction: I wrote above that the regular PreMate $5,000 required an additional $500 USB input board to play audio via that input. Acoustic Frontiers website states this is now included as sta...
What do the DEQX "plus" models offer?
It seems I am continuing to answer my own question bit by bit. I noticed on Roon's hardware partners page, DEQX is listed as a Roon Ready network player with an asterisk, meaning it is coming soon. I guess I'll just have to be patient for an offic...
CD ripping
I skimmed through this thread to find more info on CD ripping hardware. I might upgrade my Mac laptop in the next year, but all new Macs come without a disc drive so I’ll have to rip CDs using some external hardware. I actually haven’t heard much ...
Is DEQX a game changer?
For those who have been waiting for Part 3 of the DEQX articles on Digital Audio Review, it’s up now: http://www.digitalaudioreview.net/2016/09/bring-the-bass-back-with-deqx-and-dynaudio/This part covers subwoofer integration.
New Bel Canto REF600M using NCORE
Kalman Rubinson reviewed the Bel Canto Ref 600m in the October 2016 issue of Stereophile! I got my copy in the mail on Friday. Another positive review and a place in the Class A list of Reccomended components.
Is DEQX a game changer?
@jeffrubin, I'm glad you reached out to DEQX and shared their general feedback. I was curious to get their take. I'm not surprised at the response at all. Despite my enthusiasm for MQA, I think i'm in the same boat as you. I think the positives of...
