Turn down the Volume!
@dain  Well, in my room, I agree, the louder usually, means ‘more forward’ and I lose the soundstage. But again, my room. If it was larger, and I sat further away, I might be able to crank it to 90 more often, and still be ‘in scale’.

What cable companies make the best cables and sell them directly?
You can add Danny at GR Research to your list for power and speaker cables (speaker cables are kits, or you can pay him to build for you). I just received three power cables from him last week, and am pretty impressed thus far. Seems a good deal ...

@sbank  👍🏼 Great LP Spencer.
Turn down the Volume!
For me, it’s simple. I raise the volume to the point of the music, whatever it may be, sounds realistic and actually scales per the performance.  If it is louder, it seems artificial and too large, too quiet, the opposite. I would say for most a...

@sbank  Thanks Spencer, as I have never had a phono pre with capacitance setting options, I did not know it was only used for MM. The MIMC and Sussarro are still MI (moving iron), but as they are both lo output, I believe work more as a MC carts...

Steve, it seems like if you have the standard jumpers, you have many combinations to try. You really cannot hurt anything by experimenting 🙂 Not sure you really need to use the custom slot/jumpers. Might have worked for the previous owner, but ma...

@slaw   Confusing, ain’t it? So I have nothing in either slot but a 400 ohm resistor in each channels l/r slot on the very left. It’s stated as custom value slot Ahhh….so you don’t have the standard jumpers that seem to be indicated? Yes, ...
