need new classical vinyl/LP
Presto Classical is one who has a decent collection. UK based, so shipping isn’t the least expensive you can find, depending where you are.

Turntable lid up or off?
OffI had a Pro-Ject, and always took it off. Easy to do.My SOTA has no connected dust cover. I purchased a fitted fabric cover for it when not in use.
Strange looking vinyl
Interesting. I received an LP with, it seems, the exact same issue (only on one side). Unplayable, and can’t figure out what it is. I even tried lighter fluid to take off this odd ‘coating’. Didn’t do a thing. Contacted the seller, and only receiv...
What phono preamp are you using?
@mbzmeister I tried it, and took it out. The LPS I had was getting too hot to my comfort level, (not the Trumpet), so removed it. Perhaps a bad match for whatever reason, and perhaps the SBooster is simply a better product for the Trumpet, and I c...

Help! Antiskate with only a weight...no dial, and she's skating away!
I think some may be exaggerating what @cabalaska issue is per his second paragraph of the original post.
What phono preamp are you using?
@mbzmeister Just heard back from Jim, he told me the 16v LPS should be just fine with the Trumpet, may run a bit warmer, but that’s all.I’ll give it a try and see if it makes any difference.

MC, you are contradicting almost everything Peter Lederman states about anti-skating. I think I’ll follow Peter’s advice given his particular knowledge regarding such things.

Just bought that Luna Bewitched LP. Had to have it.

@cabalaska I guess I would contact Pro-Ject, explain your issue. Perhaps they have a heavier weight they could send. But, as I, (and at least another have said), I’m in the camp that your anti-skate should never match your cart tracking force. Aga...

@mbzmeister Thanks for that. I tend to agree, 1V should be within the tolerances of most modern circuitry. I have a lot of family stuff going on right now, so haven’t emailed Jim yet.
