Processor sound comparison- Anthem avm90 vs NAD M17 V2i
Never owned Marantz but owned a couple Denon, a couple Onkyo and a couple Yamaha over the years. Moved to an Anthem AVM 60 years ago and was blown away at the improvement in audio quality and channel separation. Have not had any issues with it. No...
Where to find OEM Dali Epicon woofer?
Call Simply Stereo in Palatine, IL. Ask for Lee. Awesome guy, big DALI dealer.
Would McIntosh Auto Transformers affect speaker sound?
I for one have a hard time taking audio advice from anyone who can’t even spell McIntosh correctly in their shouty posts… That said, call me a fanboy, a dummy, a fool. I don’t care. I love my McIntosh C12000 pre, MC611 monos and MCD12000 transpor...
Sound Quality of Cables Used With Bluesound Node
Similar experience as above. Node running into DA2 dac module on a McIntosh C2700 preamp. Optical was the worst. USB the best. The only way I can describe it as I went from optical to coax to USB is that each one presented more clarity, definition...
Did I screw up??? C2700 vs c49
@skydog25 How do you like your RS130? I was looking at the 150 but want to stay with separates and just saw earlier today that Rose has the 130 transport. Looks really nice. My other thought was an AURALiC Aries.
Did I screw up??? C2700 vs c49
Congrats and enjoy! Great choice! I had a C2700 for awhile and really enjoyed it. Fed into my MC462. The DA2 DAC module sounded pretty nice, too.
GIK Acoustics can't ship without damage
Same experience here. Ordered 4 corner bass traps with wood diffusion panels a couple years ago. Every one of them arrived damaged. The packing was atrocious. They were packed two per box, face-to-face with nothing in between them. The screws hold...
Best quality connection from Network Streamer (BluSound Node II) to Preamp (MC C2700)
Had similar setup for awhile. 2700 and newer Node with USB out. My ears found the USB connection to be the best sounding to me. The McIntosh DA2 DAC definitely sounded better than the Node’s DAC. I later borrowed an older Naim DAC-V1 from a friend...
Subs with room correction DSP?
Martin Logan and Paradigm subs both use Anthem’s ARC Genesis software and a USB mic for room correction. The software can be downloaded for free but I think you have to buy the “Perfect Bass Kit” to get the mic. Unfortunately you cannot use your o...
McIntosh Preamp for McIntosh MC7270
With a built-in, non-defeatable phono stage in your TT, you can't run it into another phone pre and then into your 7270. There's a warning right there on VPI's site -- "WARNING: The Nomad’s phonostage is not defeat-able and MUST NOT be plugged in...
McIntosh to Luxman?
I'm probably a little late with this, but I was going to suggest doing some tube rolling in the MA252 and see if that helps give you more of what you feel is currently lacking.  I haven't yet done it myself in my Mac tube preamp, but have read man...
Jazz like this? Suggestions
More on the smooth jazz side, but give David Benoit a try. American Landscape or A Midnight Rendezvous to start. Or maybe some of the recent stuff from Emmet Cohen. Uptown in Orbit. Till Bronner was mentioned above. There’s a great album by Till...
How do you find time to enjoy your $$$ speakers and system?
@noromance nailed it for me. Instead of turning on the idiot box at night after work, I fire up the system and explore new to me artists and albums on Qobuz, or spin some of my favorite vinyl.  Often with a Templeton Rye Manhattan or two.  I try t...
Upgrade to McIntosh
@wolfgangamadeusaudiophiliac  I stayed with a tube preamp (C2700) and SS power amp (MC462) setup when I upgraded to separates.  I'm very happy with the combo.  Best of both worlds.  The C2700 is a fantastic pre, IMO.  Regarding the MA352 - To be ...
Upgrade to McIntosh
Not really an apples to apples comparison. The MA352 is a hybrid integrated. Tube preamp, solid-state power amp. The MC275 is a true tube amp and probably more closer to the McIntosh sound than the MA352. I owned an MA352 for a while. Wasn’t crazy...
