SPL Diamond DAC - no remote control
I thought about the Director as well, but it’s a lot more $ and not that functional for what it’s supposed to do being a full fledged pre-amp. It only has two outputs so if you want to connect a subwoofer and HPA you are out of luck. They opted fo...
SPL Diamond DAC - no remote control
After an exceedingly long story it is in transit as an exchange for my Phonitor X that had developed an undetermined terminal issue. I was offered the X with the new 786xe DAC, but really wanted to try the 786 DAC with the 120v technology. I was g...
SPL Diamond DAC - no remote control
One would think they would have learned from Benchmark’s introduction of the DAC 1 - also pro gear and I think their main competition. It did not take them long to add a remote after all the feedback from their customers.
SPL Diamond DAC - no remote control
It’s not even so much me as it is my wife. This system is in the living room and it’s hard enough to explain that she can’t control the sound from the app and has to use a remote. Walking up to the unit from one end to the other of a rather large ...
Budget preamp recommendation...besides Schiit.
Don’t skimp here. As mentioned maybe most important component. Get something that you can be happy with for a long time. Benchmark is amazing and the SPL’s are as well.
No more skips, drop-outs or “file loading slowly” meassages
I may add that I am also running 5 TV’s, including the deck, at the same time with the tennis on in the background and they are also loading with lightening speed and no issues.
Dynamic Range - the golden key to music nirvana?
So I was just looking at the mighty Mark Levinson amplifiers. True Class A. The 534 for example is a $25,000 behemoth weighing in at 100 lbs. I read some of the reviews and every one praises the dynamics and how silent it is. There are very few sp...

Let’s say you are new to this hobby and you are sitting in front of your computer since there are hardly any brick and mortar audio stores any more. Where would you start if you wanted to build a good system? Not to single anyone out, but say you ...

My vote is we limit this forum to members that have longer attention spans than an ant.
Dynamic Range - the golden key to music nirvana?
As I stated at the very beginning DR is not the only consideration and everyone will have a different experience. DR is not the end all obviously and to some way down the list. It was just my guiding light and experience. There are a myriad of cho...

I guess you don’t understand sarcastic humor.
Auralic Aries - Roon Nucleus - Mesh WiFi Setup
Every situation is a little different depending largely on the space you are dealing with. My former very large house was, for example, much easier to deal with than this 3-bed condo as there were mostly large open spaces. It’s worth experimenting...
IsoAcoustics - A Class Act
They now come standard on all Marten speakers by the way. That says something about the product and I can see why.
IsoAcoustics - A Class Act
They will sound great out of the box.
