Disappearing Jazz?
Here's just one example of a great bargin:  I have also started buy a lot of CD from the "used" option on Amazon.  Anything listed as Very Good has arrived looking new and played perfectly.  Agree with sbank above on the Tone Poet re issues.  Grea...
Disappearing Jazz?
I have found a lot of the Verve and Blue Note catalogues being re issued and often re mastered at very reasonably prices.  Three examples would be the 5 CD sets by Joe Henderson  and Lee Morgan and Grant Green. Available on Amazon if like me you p...
Not Chinese Fakes But Not big $$$ Either
@dekay Any standard wire stripping tool has the crimping feature built in.  On the link to the spades, click on the install instructions and you'll see a pair.  You use the grove for 10 - 12 AWG.  It does not take much pressure to put a solid crim...
What Gear Has Disappointed You?
@mceljo  I think you are asking what equipment has not prespecteformed to our expectations, given the money paid, as in better sound?  So far, I am reading about failures in equipment, which is not really the same thing.  More bad luck than musica...

@dekay  Thanks.  In a perfect world, I have just build my last set of cables.  🤣
Not Chinese Fakes But Not big $$$ Either
@jrbirdman333 Skipped the gloves as I knew I would clean the wires before securing the spades.  Cleaned them and used a polishing cloth.

@carlsbad  I have a stripper/crimper tool but it doesn’t go below 20 awg. With a new box cutter blade as shown, I only needed to put very light pressure on the blade and simply roll it over the wire. The covering came off easily and not one wire w...

@carlsbad re name, i was hoping to attract the legion of posters who are buying knock off cables and demonstrate there is a wsy to buy local, cut costs and have some fun at the same time?  But that's just me. 7

Thanks for the nice comments to all who have looked.  A review of the sound will have to wait until next spring.  My stereo (version 4.0 since covid started) is awating the arrival of a pair of SoundLab Majestic 745's.  Made two pairs of cables so...
What's it worth to you?
I for one buy vinyl to listen to and have zero interest in "collecting" it for any other reason.  Long ago stopped buying used LP's as the percentage that are pristine is so low.  Just one man's opinion.  But if it brings you pleasure to "own" som...
Best way to keep REL sub from “hopping around” at high volumes
If your Rel is "hopping" around, are you sure you don't have the volume/gain turned up just a little to high?  I have two Rel subs in my system and I sometimes have to adjust the output depending of the disk I'm playing.  Some recording just have ...
Bi amping my ML SL3 speakers
You don't need a preamp with dual outputs.  You simply use a Y splitter off the pre, into two signal lines.  Not saying two amps is the right way to proced,  just addressing the dual output question.
Epic Popular Songs
Not sure why you put the 6 min limitation of songs, unless it's to exclude almost all but every Bob Dylan song.  Having said that, IMHO there is one Pop/Rock song that stands above all other, even 50+ years on.  Sympathy For The Devil.  Even thoug...
At this level of high(er) end audio why not offer balanced connections?
My tube amps are from Triode Audio of Japan.  TRX-M845 mono blocks.  I asked them directly what type of cables they use when setting up systems at major audio shows.  My thought being they would use what makes their equipment sound the best.  They...
