Thoughts On "Bowling For Columbine"
Likewise Lugnut I respect your opinions......well.......you might have a gun.:-)
Thoughts On "Bowling For Columbine"
Lugnut-I'm sorry but your logic defeats me.First up Braveheart is full of historical inacurracies-I have a friend who studied history and nearly passes out at the mention of Braveheart such are the liberties taken with history-as a Scottish person...
Thoughts On "Bowling For Columbine"
Sugarbrie,From reading some of these replies you could get the impression that some are proud of the gun culture in the USA.Imho it's tragic and a massive mistake to consider it part of American freedom and I'm sorry but your argument doesn't hold...
Thoughts On "Bowling For Columbine"
Ivanj- read the threads-however if you really need me to explain-in simple terms owning a gun, guns being used in violence, guns being relatively easy to legally own and reasonably cheap to buy,a police force that requires to be armed, accidents invo...
Thoughts On "Bowling For Columbine"
Of course the sad thing is that the USA has developed a gun culture and once that is the case then the argument(pro and anti ) is a very complicated one.Living here in the UK I am very glad that guns either used in violence (although growing)is st...
Riddle me this...
I use a Sugden A21a-a mere 25 watts, solid state class A amp. It's very musical and can blast it out if you want to turn the dial up.It is British made.I always thought BIG everything was an American thing.:-)
Want to get excited about SACD again??
Whatjd-unfortunately Diana Krall isn't really my cup of tea.I'm looking forward to the new Bowie and Gabriel albums which are soon to be released on SACD.
Want to get excited about SACD again??
Whatjd-maybe but I'm still not so sure-I think the problem lies at a more fundamental level than that-even if the machines did not play CD's people would still make the comparison.People would still compare CD vs SACD.I would argue that the sonic ...
Want to get excited about SACD again??
Whatjd your points may well be valid but you are looking at it from a very specialised end of the market-this frankly is not where Sony is going to make their money.Copy protection is obviously an issue too.As for multi-channel as much as I neithe...

I've seen a few movies that would have been better this way....................................
Equipment Break-in: Fact or Fiction
Twl-I respect your stance and the fact you've heard break-in sound worsen over a period before settling to an improved sonic performance. However that doesn't answer Seandtaylor's very simple but valid point. That being why do very few folk (I have ...
Equipment Break-in: Fact or Fiction
Jayarr-I did that.It doesn't prove anything except to me!Which doesn't make other findings wrong. Why can't people have confidence in their own findings and live and let live? It's a simple solution.
SACD- my intial thoughts....
Bluefin-I am not dismissing anybody's findings-I truly accept those who find SACD to be noticeably superior to CD.They have no reason to say otherwise.Clearly there are reasons why it should be better on a technical basis.I can accept that my $750...
SACD- my intial thoughts....
Tbg-I don't doubt you are right but consider you have now changed players three times(or audtioned) to get a difference of a large magnitude. My point is that the lower end players do not show a marked difference on performance-to me this is key in...
SACD- my intial thoughts....
Bluefin-it's interesting what your saying my friend was saying his biggest disappointmet with SACD was the LACK of dynamics. As you explained he thought the potential was there for a big improvement over CD-he expected to be blown away.He simply ca...
