dynuaudio c-1s in a small 10x12 room?/amppower?
Drubin, I did a search on Pwfletcher and found his closet. I didn't read thru all the posts, but I wonder if anyone told him the speakers were too close to the back wall or the room was too small? lol
dynuaudio c-1s in a small 10x12 room?/amppower?
I have been looking at the C1's for a 13.5 x 15.5 room but the consensus here seems to be the room is too small for the C1’s.What are recommended speakers for this size room? I am interested in either monitors on stands or small floor standers. I ...
Bryston & Harbeths - Good Match?
Cmo...A weekend in Austin visiting dealers might be a good idea. It seems that in my budget – up to $4k – there is just a plethora of options. It’s too bad it’s not as simple as, the higher the price, the better the speaker. For a while, I was look...
Bryston & Harbeths - Good Match?
In my OP I mentioned my budget was $2k-$4k. I am not opposed to spending less, so when you have a range from say, $1k and up, there are many choices. The Harbeth’s were on the short list but I think you all have convenienced me that they may not b...
Bryston & Harbeths - Good Match?
Thanks for all the input. Since I have the Bryston, I think I need to look at other speakers. I want to audition the Dynaudio and Totem. Any other suggestions? The Gallo Ref. 3.1 has great reviews but that is one strange looking speaker. The price ...
Help power pair of Infinity Kappa 9's please
I have to agree with the posters who suggested pro equipment. It isn't something you would want to sit and listen to, but for parties, it will rock and rock loud. The distortion and chest-pounding bass will make it even seem louder.I'd suggest the...
Is new better than old?
Well, I found a pair of Vandersteen 2ce Signatures at a good price ($700). They aren't the II's, but they are like new and I am very happy.I've only had them hooked up a couple of hours, but I am hearing things on some of my favorite tunes I've ne...
Is new better than old?
Thanks for all the responses. I think I am going to look for a used speaker that is fairly new. If figure I will be getting some of the newer technology and will be able to get a little more speaker than I could if I went new.
Is new better than old?
Tony, The problem with stretching the budget is no matter what the budget is, there is always a little bit better for just a little bit more. Even at $10,000 there is just a little bit better speaker for $10,500.Irv, yep, that was my question too....

Digital amps overhyped ?
A friend who has tried a lot of different amps and has a lot of money tied up in his equipment has been using two Acoustic REality eAR 502's bridged. He has had these a couple of years and has had no desire to change them. He says they are the bes...
Preamp or Surround Processor for Stereo?
Thanks all for your replies. I am still looking over all the possibilities. As I mentioned, I've decided to go with a dedicated pre. In the $600 - $800 range I've found the C15, A3.2CR and a Classe 47.5 that I like.If I bumped my budget a little, ...
Preamp or Surround Processor for Stereo?
Kirkus, I think I am going to go with a dedicated preamp. Now, which one? You mentioned McIntosh. Have you heard the C15? Besides the Musical Fidelity A3.2cr I mentioned above, I am also looking at the Classe 47.5. Anyone have any opinions on any ...
Preamp or Surround Processor for Stereo?
Thanks for your responses. The Parasound P3 was on my list but the two latest reviews on audioreview.com panned it. I take most reviews with a grain of salt, but two in a row makes me wonder about the unit.Right now, the Musical Fidelity A3.2cr is...
