B&W N800, 800D, 802D for my room 16x17x8 802 for sure IMO and you will be fine with them. Just be sure to give them a soiid strong solid state amp IMO to be sure you get the dynamics and response they are capable of. These amps are voiced with the use of Classe Solid State amps from what...
Amp match for Wadia and Harbeths Of the ones you mentioned I'd say the Conrad Johnson Premier 350. I did a demo on it and it was fantastic. That said my friend has the same speakers you have and he has BAT solid state pre and Manley tube amps. His sound is very nice with that. He...
cable recommendations Try Kubala Sosna and take a look at there upgrade and return policy. Best I've seen in the business.
Need Some Advice regarding interconnects I think it is important to keep all your interconnects and speaker cables in the same family. You can have one cable conflict the other and you can't really judge a cable IMO unless you match it up with like cables. You can put a very good cable o...
Cable Elevators - What do you use? I use Shunyata Dark Field elevators, mostly to get off carpet to help keep static down as my system is subject to it in the basement. Also, I've heard it don't matter what you use to get these cables, (all cables), off the floor but I think it jus...
Designer Hall of Fame Victor Khomenko and BAT for making simple harder to build circuits with minimal gain stages and no global feedback. My system is 600 watts per channel and has 3 gain stages per channel, well four including the gain stage in source I suppose. That ...

Girlfriends and wifes, how do YOU cope? This is the funniest thread I have ever read. I will read through this more for sure, ha... Well let me put my thoughts and experiences in it. My dad taught me a long time ago that when dealing with a woman, It's always easier to ask for forgivene...
The BEST system you've ever built !!!! This is very cool to read through this, wow some really great systems here. Mine has been evolving quickly here as I had a system I was happy with although I was changing it little by little. Then I heard something similar to what I have now on a ...
Best Amp for McIntosh sys.- MC252, MC402, or MC501 I would go with the 402 and spend the money saved on other things in audio system for other improvements maybe. The 402 is a very musical amp and more than enough for your system.
B&W N800, 800D, 802D for my room 16x17x8 I still say 802N or D and spend the extra saved $$$ on other area's. I don't think we have talked about what you are using in the rest of your system unless I missed it. What is the rest like or are you starting from scratch?
Amplifier Experience Gryphon Pass Lamm BAT The BAT REX uses tubes, yes. It has like I don't know 6 or so in each unit. It also uses two power cords to separate the positive and negative phase. No need for tube rolling is one thing I like about this pre. Some of these pre's you can buy then...
Amplifier Experience Gryphon Pass Lamm BAT They are most likely going to do the same type stuff with the Vk600 and wind up with a 650 or 700 similar to the Vk255se. Also of note on upgrade path, with the way Bat does there circuits and the ability to go from stereo to mono and even four of...
Amplifier Experience Gryphon Pass Lamm BAT Hamburgcity I have not heard Gryphon but with the others you mentioned they must be very good as Bat, Pass, and Lamm are all home-run hitters. I just prefer the quick, natural dynamics and speed of bat. As Rtn1 mentioned I think several U.S. manuf...
B&W N800, 800D, 802D for my room 16x17x8 I've had both N and D in and the N is somewhat harder to drive on the low end. As far as is it worth it to pay the extra, that is a matter of opinion and could you use that extra to better something else. If you're willing to buy new they have a n... |
