Toe-in recommendation for stand mount monitors
Good lad. I have owned something like 20 to 25 BMW bikes, from a '74 R90S through an '02 K1200LT. Four spine surgeries and a hip replacement put riding off limits in these, my golden years.Just re-read your initial commentary and see that you're n...
Toe-in recommendation for stand mount monitors
Broadstone, it appears to me that you have your speakers just about where they need to be given the room anomalies you describe, i. e. - you are minimizing surface reflections and preserving the frequency response designed into them vis a vis your...
Toe-in recommendation for stand mount monitors
I subscribe most nearly with Timlub's recommendation. Keep in mind that the vast majority of speakers are designed to produce a flat frequency response when measured on axis. This means that the more the speaker is turned off axis the less flat th...
How old are your speakers
Bought my Musical Fidelity MC-4s in 1987, so they're 28 years old. These are Martin Colloms designed two-ways with a see-through TPX 8" bass/mid and Elac metal dome tweeter. I enjoy rotating them through my secondary system where I additionally ha...
White Audio Labs B2 amp...any info?
Doug, it gets very, very warm but I can keep my hand on it indefinitely. By contrast my Forte Model 4 (true Class A?) gets downright hot to where I need to pull my hand off after a few seconds.
White Audio Labs B2 amp...any info?
Good of you guys to help. This is a really nice sounding amp, even if it isn't Class A. To answer Doug99's question my B2 says 360 watts on the back plate.I imagine it would be next to impossible to find a manual for this guy but if anyone out the...
Are tiny subwoofers worthwhile?
My room isn't especially small (22.5' x 24.5') but I am having good luck with a pair of small Hsu ST2 subs (10" drivers) filling out the bottoms of my Apogee Slant 6's. I measured them as flat down to 30 Hz which I consider adequate, and excellent...
most accurate loudspeakers....
My personal quest has been to find speakers (with ancillary equipment) that do the best job of placing me in the same space with the performers. To create this illusion of reality is devoutly to be desired but is impossible to achieve completely. ...
Seas Millennium Break-in time
Bill,My pair of Linbrook Monitor Signatures needed about 200 hours of high-ish playing levels to optimize, after which any additional changes were almost inconsequential. The Millenium tweeter is the most natural sounding dome-type tweeter I've fo...
haunting/dark classical
I'm very fond of most of what's been recommended and applaud the others for their thoughtful responses. I would like to recommend a piece that won't qualify as Classical music in the usual sense but it is orchestral and most definitely describes w...
What a voice
Frankie Laine had a really good voice, for sure, but his delivery (phrasing, emphasis) made him a stand out to me. I feel the same way about Bobby Darin and Gladys Knight. Frankie Laine's hits are timeless gems...have a listen to "That Lucky Old S...
Subwooferin'...newbee seeks advice.
Thanks for your comments, Bob. I'm thinking I could hook up the subwoofer to one set of speaker cables from the amp, and then after running through the high pass filter in the subwoofer that signal can go from the subwoofer to the Apogees' woofer ...
TSM-MM not loud enough ...
Bobby, I feel you have been helpful and pretty even handed in your comments. I enjoy hearing from you. In a general sense (i. e. - not directed at you)I feel capable of sifting through what gets posted on here and ID'ing what's exclusively self-se...

Some great sounding classical "warhorses" ??
Guys, I knew I would get some fine responses to this query and my "cart" on Amazon is starting to fill up! So good of y'all to help out.
