Sub for Aerial 10Ts Steve:I understand about the 33H being a little out of reach, it was for me as well, fortunately it was a friend selling and price and terms were favorable! I've heard nothing but good about the Sim Titan if you are happy that's where it is at. As...
Speaker priority: high or low??? Most important is synergy between all the components, followed by the interaction of the room. I've found everything matters. Paul
Sub for Aerial 10Ts I'll second Ken's reply. Aerial's SW 12 would be the way to go. A pair would be better. I've got 10t's and a similar sized room, I'm happy without a sub, however I have a Infinity IRS Betas as well as the 10t's, and the Beta woofers integrate with...
Tubes Do It -- Transistors Don't. Each to their own taste! I use 33H on the mid/tweeter panels of Infinity IRS Beta. These panels voiceds with ARC tube products when the speaker was designed. With a good source, I find the 33H and Bat VK50SE preamp combo right on the money, though...
Can ADS C2000 X-over be modified for L1590 spkrs? LOL, I wish I had your answer. Mike Kelly may know. You don't want to know, but I have L1590's with the biamp modules...they are wonderful in my home office. Listening to DeBussy's LaMer as I write this. Good luck and happy listening.beemer
How old is too old ?.... Lots of good replies here. Last year I bought a set of Infinity IRS Betas. Originally introduced in 1988. Mine are late production, though I could care less. I've wanted these since new, only pricing kept me away. I'm fortunate in that here in Mas...
Flavor Of the Month I associate FOTM most always with CD players. We've had every kind of technobabble possible tossed at us in regards to redbook playback. One thing I've found: My BAT VKD5SE has staying power. You all got to remember there are only 44,100 samples p...
Where does your user name come from? Mine comes from my love of a certain German-made horizontally opposed twin motorcycle, mostly the late 50's early 60's R69S, equipped with sidehack and Earles fork.
Aerial 20T...has anyone heard it? I have 10t's. I've seen the 20t's on the Aerial web page.I'd like to hear 'em, but no one around here has 'em in Massachusetts. I'd probly be best off calling Michael Kelly and taking a ride to Wellesley, LOL!beemer
Where can I buy Genesis Speaker Parts? Try these folks:http://www.genesisspeakers.com/I hope this helps!Paul
Von Schweikert VR5 or Aerial 10T I own 10t's. Far too many people equate these as an HT speaker due to M. Kelly's excellent website. Fact is, most folks and dealers as well never put the 10t's up with their better equipment. I run mine as follows: source: sony scd777es or BAT VKD...
Upgrading 1500 Pre to 3000 pre. What Benifits? Whoooosh! went my system when I unloaded the ARC SP-11 for a BAT 50SE. Benefits: Resolving power, soundstage, vocal clarity, holography, sheesh, it goes on and on. Make sure your cables are up to the task when you get a new preamp though.Paul
Aerial 10T Revisions? I find most folks underrate the 10t for some unexplicable reason. provide this speaker with a quality frontend and the results will amaze you. My nirvana was found with BAT VK50SE-Levinson 33H-10t. System has been unchanged for almost 2 years now....
Sony SCD 777ES Really that Good??? I've had my SCD777ES for quite a while now. I also have a Sonic Frontiers SFD2MKII tube DAC. Lets say that for me, I can switch between the SF and the Sony output stage for redbook and they are damn close, and my Sony is unmodded. And then theres S...
All ML or mix & match with Electrostatics? I have two systems both with Levinson amps. Both also with BAT tube preamps. I find great synergy in the BAT pre/Levinson amp combo. As a former Martin-Logan user, I would suggest you find a VK50 preamp to try, not the SE, a straight 50. Best of l... |
