Ha!
Adding mass to the Zeta counterweight
The Michell and Groovetracer counterweights are underhung and wide, for the reason you state fleib. And you're right, adding mass below the bearings should provide an improvement as the Zeta is a dynamically balanced arm---hadn't thought of that, ...
Adding mass to the Zeta counterweight
Ah yes, I had forgotten that adding mass to the counterweight will allow it to be positioned closer to the arms bearings, thereby automatically lowering the arms effective mass. Elegant, and counter-intuitive (no pun intended)! Thanks fleib. The qu...

If you don't mind altering your speaker cables, Cardas makes Magy Pins (which replace spades or banana plugs) specifically for the Magnepan terminals.

inna: "Didn't hear anything different". You're not supposed to! Last Record Preservative was designed to, as the name says, preserve LP's, to prevent their deterioration with every play. Not to make LP's sound better, but to prevent them from soun...
LAST record preservative improves the sound
Great write-up nrenter. Rockitman, Last Record Preservative is NOT a coating. It is a chemical binder, locking the PVC molecules together, to prevent the LP's vinyl from fracturing due to the friction, pressure, and heat created by the stylus ridi...
Whats playing on your system today?
With all the British Blues Rockers mentioned, I feel obligated to suggest Big Joe Turner---the Blues shouter to beat all Blues shouters (I saw him live backed by The Blasters---one of the greatest nights of my life), Howlin' Wolf, his guitarist Hu...
How to clean vinyl records
Go to the Tracking Angle website, where Michael Fremer has an LP-cleaning primer. A really detailed, thorough one.
