The "Very Best Record Cleaning Formulation"
@wizzzard: As far as I know there was no connection between AR and either Watts or Discwasher. But back in the 60’s and 70’s there weren’t the number of record cleaning products available that there are now. The only other serious cleaner---and it...
The "Very Best Record Cleaning Formulation"
@wizzzard: Ah yes, confusion clarified! The bottle of D3 you received was included with the Discwasher record cleaning brush, which was introduced in about 1972 if I remember correctly, though it may have been ’71. I adopted the Discwasher as my c...
Cheap used LP's: They're still out there!
@larsman: I was unaware of Man when they were active. It wasn’t until their drummer Terry Williams became involved with Dave Edmunds (another Welshman) that I learned of them. I don’t remember them coming to the Bay Area (I lived in the San Jose a...
Gurf Morlix gives a great interview to Otis Gibbs.
Steve: As I have recounted before I was fortunate enough to see Lucinda and Gurf along with drummer Donald Lindley and bassist Dr. John live a few times when they were recording the Rough Trade album, again after that album came out, and then when...
The "Very Best Record Cleaning Formulation"
How did I get dragged into this? ;-)   What I DID say is: 1- @wizzzard stated he had used Last Record Preservative back in 1969. I offered the fact that Last was not developed and put on the market (by Walter Davies, owner of a great high en...
Steve Guttenberg finally reviews the Eminent Technology LFT-8b loudspeaker.
@ricevs: Yeah Ric, in one of his YouTube videos Danny Richie speaks about New Record Day Ron having found the Sapphire to produce "faster" bass than the Rythmik/GRR OB Sub (just for the record, Ron's opinion carries little weight with me). Danny c...

So Ric (@ricevs), you’re no longer a fan of the GR Research/Rythmik Audio OB/Dipole Sub? That too can be used in place of the stock LFT-8b woofer. The 2-woofer version of the OB Sub kit is available from Rythmik for $999, and from GR Research wit...

Damn, you’re right @gktaudio! I have both the LFT-4 and LFT-8b in my room, and use the latter with it’s grill cloth frames in place. The LFT-4 didn’t come with (a) grill frame(s), and it is the LFT-4 which has the LFT driver assembly (containing b...

Right @audiophilejunkey, the LFT-18LS. That was mentioned back on page 1 of this thread, where the same video (which you filmed ;-) is posted as well. But thanks! I followed your build of the NX-Treme on YouTube, which is one reason why I didn't b...
What does it take to be a die hard Beatles fan?
@whart: Bill, I find your summary of the solo writing of Lennon and McCartney right in line with my opinion. Let’s see if you too get attacked for not considering The Beatles above all criticism. I saw The Beatles live in ’65 (at The Cow Palace i...

@gktaudio: Thanks for that info on the 8c. Using the DSP for the woofer only is how I too would run the 8c. I have a First Watt B4 x/o, a nice little unit from the mind of Nelson Pass. The rational for the struts of the Mye stand is to brace the ...
Steve Guttenberg finally reviews the Eminent Technology LFT-8b loudspeaker.
@harryz: I too wondered if the woofer enclosure of the 8c has the same footprint as does the 8b. The rear of the 8b woofer enclosure is sloped, the 8c not. Perhaps both enclosures have the same bottom dimension, the 8c just having a square shape, ...
Can’t buy output tubes anywhere except from manufacturers at high prices.
RAM Tubes is still selling expertly-tested, labelled, and matched tubes.

@harryz: Nope Harry; I'm a huge procrastinator. ;-) My correspondence regarding the Mye stand for the LFT-8 was with a swell guy named Scott (I'll keep his last name private, as he may not want it made public). He contacted me after seeing my pos...
