Seas' Thors kit up N runnin
Anyone have any questions, please by all means feel free to ask anything you care to. I'd love to field questions. I've heard my fair share of speakers.
KT90 experience?
Interesting. Now I have the Jadis Orch Reference, has 4 KT90's, very nice. Have not heard the KT88's. So I plan to get a DA60 with 8 KT88's (I believe thats how the amp is listed), so will I expect less bass on the Da60? I doubt it. I guess its al...
Seas' Thors kit up N runnin
Nice responses. The point of my question was: do you know of any speaker that can match the value you get in the Thor's/Odin's (basically same speaker)?? I find them to have no fatigue, and deliver super bass, mids, highs. Of course as I say, the ...
anyone heard the usher 6 series speakers?
Fact is that the Danes (Denmark) ESPECIALLY Seas' makes the world's best drivers, best speakers. China/Taiwan, nor any other country can touch them. Never will. But will agree the Chinese amps/cdp's will make the europeans and US manufactures scre...
Seas' Thors kit up N runnin
I'm wondering..suppose I had NOT bought the Thors...pure supposition...which other speaker would equal the Thors? All things being equal. Equal being: 1) NOT OVER 75 POUNDS EACH 2) NOT BEING MORE THAN $2K 3) HAVING DYNAMICS WITH A 40 WATT AMP.

No they don't have GIGANTIC bass, but all the tight clear bass I hope for in a speaker. Mids never attack you, the complexity of classical, or say like Gloria Estafan's Mi tiera, just leave you mezmerized, all the instruments have a voice, each ha...

Assemble: ahh, If you know how to solder, not hard at all. The xover is laid out on a board very organized. The diagram shows you the exact points to solder the 2 positive flat wires of the 2 W17 Midbass, the 2 negative wires, the 1 positive wire ...
Your ''best kept secret'' speaker choice ?
I would have to say the best kept secret are the Seas' Thor's I just built, a MTM design. Ck it out on Madisound's web site. Need any help feel free to email me.
Tube power vs Solid state power, how much is enoug
I have a Jadis 40 watt intergrated Orchestra Reference, has 4 KT90's. I just built a pr of Seas' Thor's, rated 87db, that is extremely low. The little Jadis has no problem, provided the treble and bass tone controls are given a little boost. Resul...
Cayin TA-30 thoughts...
America get ready for an invasion.....The Cayin Invasion....I CAN'T WAIT!!! The Hype Era is over at that time.
Cayin TA-30 thoughts...
Yes the Cayin amps look very nice. I'm interested in the Cayin 500, with 4 FU29's, but as I cannot read german, I have no idea of the description/details. I tried emailing a Cayin dealer in Europe, and they just said, "yes the FU's are great for c...
Tube amps for classical music FU29 vs EL34
On second thought, I may want to go with the DA60, since it will be my "last" amp, the DA30 has 4 Kt90's, which is exactly what my Orch Reference has, so thats not a step up enough. The Da60 although 2X's the price of a 30, has 8! KT90's, thus giv...
Tube amps for classical music FU29 vs EL34
Aroc's post further confirms to stay on course with the Jadis DA30/KT88's. You see most of classical collection 400+ cds are not DDD/modern recordings. Some are from the 50's, some are Naxos, and others just don't have much dynamics. But still wan...
Tube amps for classical music FU29 vs EL34
Interesting post David. What I was refering to in the EL34's is that they provide more bass than my friends single ended 300B Cayin(can't recall the tubes), which classical music sounded flat, IOW lacked a certain depth and height I'm looking for ...
Tube amps for classical music FU29 vs EL34
Its FU29, not 4FU. The 300B is a single ended amp, so requires a sensitive db rating 92+ speaker. That part I understand from experience. The FU29 amp, Cayin 500, I'm not sure what kind of amp it is. Also does anyone know if the Cayin 734 will acc...
