What are the specs of a full range speaker?
Pbb has a good point, what is the most reasonable range, which he says is 30hz through say 16Khz. Hoover joins in with agreement and is hapy to see someone actually post this. My speakers go to 40hz and so far have been satisfactory enough. IOW wh...

Zaiksman: "sonically significant unwanted contributions from the cabinet"...."a 4 ft floorstander @70 lbs is almost midweight for this size cabinet"...I think its fair to say 95%+ , honestly I'd put it at 90% of the audible sound comes from the dr...
WILSON AUDIO/ cost vs. value
Tvad , have not even 1 Tyler. I am basing my opinion on the fact he uses the same drivers as my seas' kit. I figure the sound msut be close. I have plans to pick up a pr of Systems 2, the 3 way, sometime next yr. Wish I could offer a more solid op...

Tvad, not refering to Von Schweikert. What I was getting at it China may build some electroics/many designs copies from french, or designed in europe, when it comes to speakers they have a ways to go to catch up to the Danes. I realize many here d...
WILSON AUDIO/ cost vs. value
"all prices covered...the bottom range at $6K..." Not many of us can afford that asking price, though i know used they can be had for half. Still I think I can do better. I guess Tvad balances out my comments on Wilson with his "Wilson magic". I r...

BOa I understand that you did speak in a general sense. No harm done. Grant, as much as I admire a particular amp designed in germany/built in china, I'd never buy a chinese speaker, unless of course it was designed by the Danes with Danish parts....

Boa2 "..everyone desires financial success, and most are begruding toward those who have achieved it". First I'll say I do not have money, nad Katrina made that even worse (no job) and even if I did , that is have BIG $'s the wilson's would not ev...
WILSON AUDIO/ cost vs. value
I like Macrojack's comments on the "real" (somewhat relative) value of any speaker. What he is trying to bring out is that we really need to take a step back and see what we are paying for, his moto and mine would be "by paying more, you may not g...

Macro what do you think about Zu's Def at 9K, comes loaded with 4 USA made 10 inch high efficiency internal powered woofers + Zu's 10 inch Zu universal woofer + the dome tweeter, all this for 9K. Frankly I don't want any of the speaker to be inter...
Bloated speakers/weight wise
At the very moderate listening volume I hear my music, it would make very little difference if the cabinet were 1/2 inch or this 3/4 fab wood. I guess if I had the bigger 8 inch, or 10 inch Seas, then maybe a mid SPL there would be at least some a...

"I'll bet the dip at 150hz is still there even with the speaker on the floor" (as opposed to someones previous objexction taht the tests were performed on the Zu driver sitting in mid air). ....oops...Dip at 150, classical music has alot going on ...

Sure we all may have different wants/wishes for a speaker's voicing of the muisc. About the graph, I guess if someone asked what what I like in a speraker, then we looked at my speakers curve graphs, he may tell , "nope, this Seas is not the one y...

My speaker has 3/4 inch fab board, they stand 4 ft tall, good depth, narrow though, and weigh in at 70 lbs each. I'm only missing the lower 20-40 hz's. Heres a story that shows how a light speaker can be a benifit. When katrina was on the way I mo...

Undertow i apologize for making comments that were not fair to Zu's, because I've not heard them. I was refering to a post over at AA from PatD who posted a graph on them. You;ll have to read that for yourself. You can raed atmasphere's review and...

PatD on audio aslyum provides a link to the Druids measurment graphs. I can't interpret graphs. But take his word for what he sees..Paul
