Gallo Reference III midrange COOKED
I use an Audio Alchemy OM150, rated for 150 watts into 8 ohms. The amp has a clipping indicator on the front, if/when I see it lighting up, usually above zero db on my AA DLC, I back the volume down a bit. I don't often listen at those extreme lev...
looking for speakers under 3K new or used,,,help
You may want to put a general location in your profile or this post. Someone who lives in your vicinity may be wiling to have you over to hear their set up, or even bring their speakers over to your place.
Gallo REfF3's-All their cracked up to be?
Hey Woifi,We all hear differently, listening to "Stereo" is a personal thing. As no two speaker systems sound the same, no two people, look the same or hear the same. I have a number of musician friends who love the sound of my Gallo speakers beca...
Challenging Critera - kids, space, $3500 budget
A set of used Gallo 3.1 Refs will run you under $2k, so you'll have $1.5k left for electronics. They'll do a good job filling your space with good sound, and if you leave the covers on them, they'll be protected from your 2 year old. Since your ba...
Any Anthony Gallo Strada Owners?
The Due is no comparison, the Strada is far far superior. I've heard them side by side.
New Gallo 3.5's
From what I understand, there are a few more things that Anthony is working on regarding the bases, but it should be soon. I'm psyched to hear the final version.
NHT Returns to a New Marketplace?
Sorry if I hit a nerve, you should read that whole thread from which you quoted me, the dealer wasn't of much help to the person in that thread were they(?) My most recent purchase was an Oppo BDP-83, MFR Direct, no problems. Prior to that was a p...
NHT Returns to a New Marketplace?
Has2be,In your response, you mention shipping as a negative aspect of the direct model. Fact is, the product needs to be shipped to your dealer, and there really isn't any difference in how the packages are handled, whether they're shipped to you ...
What is your favorite type of tweeter?
I've been a fan of Gallo's "CDT" since '94.
NHT Returns to a New Marketplace?
Hmmm...I just read the Stereophile article http://www.stereophile.com/news/nht_returns_to_a_new_marketplace/and then went to "www.amazon.com" and searched "anthony gallo speakers", http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw?url=search-alias%3Daps&fi...
Speaker Recommendations for Soundstage and Imaging
On the used market, the Gallo Reference 3.1 are available in your price range, and the 3.0 are even less. IMHO I think they fit all your criteria.

anthony gallo av reference vs usher be 718
Are you looking to buy new or used? Gallo is replacing the AV-Reference with the Strata, and the Strata is a superior speaker. I have no personal experience with the Ushers so can't comment to how they'd compare.
Modern twist on 70's speaker design?

Gallo 3.1 vs. B&W 804 vs. faber grand piano
The 3.5 is a definite step up from the 3.1. A far bigger difference between 3.5 and 3.1, than 3.1 and 3.0. I've heard them side by side and the 3.5s are worth the extra money.
