Soundsmith Straingauge cartridge taken to the next level
Thanks Spirit, the price appears reasonable.  I assume VAT is not applied if purchased by a US based customer?
Soundsmith Straingauge cartridge taken to the next level
I'm am intrigued by the Straingauge system and have pondered upgrading from Peter's wonderful Hyperion.  I HATE wallwarts...they have no place in the high end audio!  Can you please tell us what the retail price is for your new power supply?
New favorite VINYL Album?
I agree with Utahusker, Live at Massey Hall has rapidly become one of my all time favorite LP's. To hear Neil's 'Young' voice, is like hearing him for the first time. And the way he interacts with his audience is pure magic. And if that wasn't eno...

6C33-B vs everything else.
Thanks for the kind words Joe, I can always count on you to accurately describe the things you here(far better than me and most I may add). Please note that I am not a Quicksilver dealer, just an enthusiastic owner of Mike's products for 21 years.
6C33-B vs everything else.
KT 88, Call Mike Sanders at Quicksilver Audio and ask about tube and socket life. When I inquired, Mike told me that he runs the 6C33 at low stress levels and expects extremely long life out of both (in contrast to other manufacturers that push th...
6C33-B vs everything else.
Kt 88, I have an alternative suggestion for you to consider: Quicksilver Triode monoblock amps. These fine unadvertised hand made beauties utilize one pair of 6C33's in PP fashion generating a credible 50 watts. Mike Sanders designed and builds th...
Orbe Upgrade from AC/QC/PS to DC/NC/PS worth it?
May I suggest you consider the Origin Live Ultra motor controller and dc motor as an alternative to the NC? I don't have any direct experience with the NC, but my OL Ultra was a spectacular upgrade on my Gyrodec! And at $1400, a bargain.
Review: Groovetracer Counterweight for Rega Turntable
After considerable listening sessions, I have come to the conclusion that in my system loosing the counterweights so that they just make contact with the Groovetracer O rings makes a nice improvement in sound reproduction. By comparison, screwing ...
Review: Groovetracer Counterweight for Rega Turntable
I just installed the Groovetracer and concur 100% with Zoltarcat's findings. I installed this beautifully machines counterweight on my Zeta tonearm which fortunately has the same size end stub diameter as the Rega (.5 inch) for which the Groovetra...
Tonearm for Transfiguration temper
As a new owner of the Temper W, I totally concur withLinnlp12 comments. The W is the finest cartridge I have ever heard. I upgraded from a Lyra Helikon, which I was quite pleased with, but the W is in a league all to itself. The Rega arm will work...
