Favorite Obscure Rock Song
Kudos to UZJ100 for nominating McGuiness Flint’s - When I’m Dead and Gone. I found it on Qobuz and heard it for the first time since high school 1970! Unfortunately it became an earworm and I found myself humming the chorus all day until I went to...
I want to replace the router/modem Comcast with a high quality for streaming
Because my better-half insists on having a land line telephone number we’re using the standard Xfinity rented modem with voice for 400 mb service. Is anyone in a similar situation who has purchased a modem with voice that they’re happy with?
"The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down".
Regarding Robbie’s behavior, I suppose musical genius and being a jerk are a not necessarily mutually exclusive. RIP to a gifted song writer.
"The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down".
I had the good fortune of seeing the Band twice. Once during the Last Waltz tour at the Spectrum In Philadelphia and again in Oct. 1983 at the Brandywine Club in Chadds Ford, PA. The difference between the two shows couldn’t have been more apparen...
Is 12'x12' too small for Magnepan 1.7's?
My thanks to all who offered advice and suggestions regarding my plight. I think, even if I had optimized the 12'x12' room from a listening standpoint I still would have felt a little claustrophobic with the arrangement.  I finally dragged the ma...
So you just took a gummie...What song is on the menu?
Some great responses here to a great question. I would simply say picking at random a few of my favorites and listening for the joy of the artistry and any subtle instrumental nuances or undeciphered lyrics as yet unheard.
Upgrade Internal DAC of Node or go with Atoll ST120.
Looking at upgrading to a external DAC for my Bluesound Node  Several folks mentioned bypassing the DAC in the Blue Sound Node and using an alternate DAC, but no one explains how that is done. Can someone help a neophyte ?
Best progressive rock album side
What a great topic! Plenty of forgotten albums I’ll have to rediscover on Tidal tonight. Aside from what’s offered I’d suggest A Salty Dog by Procol Harum. Though there’s not a single long composition, there are plenty of the other characteristics...
Share MYSTICAL, HAUNTING songs
Classically speaking - Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis. I hope to hear this playing when I die, on my ascent into the next world.
Share albums where EVERY SINGLE song is good
Van Morrison - Moondance Charles Mingus - Ah Um Taj Mahal - The Real Thing The Band - Rock of Ages Stephen Stills - Manassas
Peachtree Nova500 impressions?
I jumped from the Peachtree separates to the Nova 500 when they offered an upgrade deal. The separates were powering my Magnepan 1.7s well but I felt they'd be better with the extra power the 500 offered.  Frankly the difference is huge. I've got...
Suggest one obsure album we all should hear
An excellent live album from an underappreciated musician: Taj Mahal - The Real Thing
Perfect Pop Songs
With out a doubt, it’s gotta be Red Rubber Ball by the Cyrkle.
Point of higher priced streamer?
As a recent subscriber to Audiogon and the world of the audiophile, I find this discussion on DACs very interesting. And also as someone with a limited budget it’s interesting to hear from people who run through various DACs seeking a ’better soun...
High end Class D amps?
Georgehifi - Class-D likes benign 4-6ohm loads with low - phase angles, and that’s what the Maggie’s are, but when the loads get tough, then big Linear Amps come out to play.As a relative newbie can you help me learn by explaining your response in...
