Dunlavy SC IV Speaker- Any Good??? Thats too bad because they can wow you and then some, if powered properly. A Sony received? What did you think they’d sound like. Thats hilarious. I heard 7 of them setup with 3 subs and it was wicked. Best home theater I have ever heard. I ...
Best Bang for the Buck Upgrade Fix your sub and add 1-3 more of the same sub. Add room treatments. Get a dedicated power line. Add a streamer. Go to dinner and drinks and then to some live music events. Take dance lessons. Stay overnight somewhere an hour or two from home.
What Is So Special About Harbeth? There are others that compete with Harbeth and are better in some regards but Harbeth has a unique sound. Very smooth, sparkly, just delicious sounding. I haven’t heard them at high volumes but low to moderate volumes, they sound really sweet.
Do you own Magnepan LRS speakers? If so, please share your experience/opinion. @jusam , if you can, get a pair of 1.7i’s.
Do you own Magnepan LRS speakers? If so, please share your experience/opinion. I’ve got a pair of LRS’s. I really like them but want the 1.7i’s pretty bad. The LRS is a funny speaker. It can be the most underwhelming, crappy sounding speaker I’ve had if not set up exactly right. Set them up exactly right with some good as...
Small room electrostat/ planar speaker? @tablejockey , theopjust responded today…. I know its originally an old thread but the op chimed back in.
Small room electrostat/ planar speaker? I have had dozens and dozens of speakers. I’ve had Magnepan LRS’s for a few months now and I want some 1.7i’s really bad. I absolutely love the Maggie sound and am not sure that I will go back to conventional box designs except for secondary set...
Affordable vs. ultra expensive speakers - what's the difference? Consider yourself blessed if you honestly ask yourself that question…
Which Tweeter preferred- dome natural material, Beryllium/Metal or Planar Ribbon? Why? Silk is the best! No wait, Beryllium is the best… Except for ribbons. No wait, Maggie's are the best! I think its safe to say that there are fine examples of each. This question is like which flavor of ice cream is best?
Devore or Audio Note or other sensitive speakers: wanting to listen in Denver Agree on that Classic series. The cabinets alone are amazing. Field coil is very interesting as well.
Devore or Audio Note or other sensitive speakers: wanting to listen in Denver I haven’t heard Cessaros but have always wanted to do so. Maybe if someone has some in the Denver area, you’d be kind enough to invite Hilde and I over for a listen 😀.
Kef 104/2 Replacements If the op is still looking 14 years later, I’ve got nothing for him!
Sound System on $10K Budget @tas2200 , those speakers are beautiful and should sound fantastic with the hegel. I think you’ll be happy!
Suggest your most desired MSRP $1,500-$3,000 Stand Mount for a Shootout. @chorus , I’d be really curious how the CSS Criton 1TD-X speaker kit would stack up. They’ve been getting a few pretty good reviews. You could do the fully upgraded kit with a baltic birch flat pack for $1400. It looks like a beginner can easi...
Cheap $88 Sony SS-CS5 Speakers - Awesome @reubent , why not try the upgrade kit from gr research. Danny really liked those speakers and said the measured incredibly well. I know the upgrade kit is around $200 but if you already like them but just want more… A strong point of them was ... |
