Step me up from Paradigm Studio 20 v4 bookshelf, seriously.
I was going to suggest upgrading the tweeters.  I saw a pair of beryllium tweeters for $500 but you’d want to upgrade crossovers too.  I think it is a smarter investment to sell your studio’s and get some signatures.  I’ve had a bunch of different...
Speaker Positioning
My oppinion on this is to get it close but don’t loose sleep over 1/8 of an inch.  I also think that sometimes its better to not have them at the same exact distancE from the walls because of frequencies cancelling each other out.  Also, your room...

Good for you for supporting your local b&m!  And trying hard at it.I’d stuck with the ls50’s for now and upgrade your pre.  You might even be able to go $2500 on a pre, $2500 on some used speakers...
Bass Driver Size - how much better is an extra inch?
Just look at speaker manufacturers.  As you move up the line they get bigger... Most flagship models within a speaker line are there largest.I do believe though that you can overpower a room with speakers to large for that room but the room needs ...
Bass Driver Size - how much better is an extra inch?
This is like saying a built 2 liter, 4 cylinder turbocharged engine can outperform a V-8.  Well sure, but can it outperform a built, turbocharged V-8?  No.I’ll buy that a 10” driver isn’t as fast as an 8” driver, but all other things being equal, ...
Looking for a new integrated amp
For $2k I wouldn’t do any of those.  Research research and research some more.  Buy used.  A well built amp is going to be reliable, especially if it isn’t too old.  Check customer service as well.  I was contemplating a Musical Fidelity M6i, a Ki...

And whoa, $5000 amp?  Might want to look into a new preamp first.  I’d say that the Rotel is holding you back more than the LS50’s at this point.

“I have very good relationship with this dealer““I’m going to be using my local dealer so I wont be able to audition some of these”Im confused.  Your using a local dealer but aren’t able to demo?  And you have a good relationship with them?  Hmmm....
Soliciting opinions on the necessity of credit card info when only selling
Thats I think where I was confused about my fees selling on Audiogon.Audiogon charges fees either upfront or post sale yet you have to pay a fee upfront for the listing.  I guess your real choice is pay up front then pay up front again or pay up f...
Would the dynaudio special 40's be a noticeable upgrade over the ELAC UF5?

Would the dynaudio special 40's be a noticeable upgrade over the ELAC UF5?
The Dyns should should great with that esotar tweeter!  The evoke uses the esotec.  Problem is, you probably want larger speakers to fill a room that size.  I’d look at $2,000 speakers that will fill that room AND be an upgrade over the elacs (the...
Bass Driver Size - how much better is an extra inch?
Im not sure that Im tracking that last post...??Anyhow, yes, 6” drivers, especially dual, can produce a good amount of bass if high quality.  But a high quality 6” driver vs the same high quality 10” driver, and the larger driver will put out more...
Bass Driver Size - how much better is an extra inch?
Honestly, bass drivers should be 8” or bigger in my opinion.  10” or 12” is even better.  Thats why you should just augment the low end with a sub but many 2 way speakers today with 6” drivers produce sufficient bass.If you sit there though and go...
Looking for more detail in a speaker
“I chased detail (the more the better) for many years until I realized that musicality and tonal balance should have been my pursuit.“... ditto.  Musicality, tonality, and emotional connection.  Dynamics have been eeking in there as well.  Having ...
Looking for more detail in a speaker
I was thinking Maggies as well.  They are very directional and you have to sit with your head in a vice but they over loads of detail.  I’m not a fan of Martin Logans...
