What venues are best for selling used equipment? My experience is that Audiogon is best if you are trying to sell high-end gear. However, if you have mass market or lower-end equipment to sell, like a receiver, eBay is probably the best place to sell it.
Best sounding CD player for 6,000. I have the Krell KPS-28c, and it's a terrific cd player. You should check it out for comparison. In the end, sonic beauty is in the ear of the listener....
Ugliest speaker ever? Yes, the Wilson Audio X-1 Grand Slams are butt ugly. So are all the big Dunluvy's in my opinion. These speakers were all designed with only the functional aspect in mind, without regard to any appreciation of aesthetics. As to many other speakers ...
Integrated multi channel amp Yes, there is such a thing, although I have not seen it marketed by high-end brands, like Proceed, Krell, etc. Yamaha, for example, has a model called DSP-A1, or its latest version DSP-AX1, which is essentially their top-end receiver without the b...
Best CD Player - Opinions? Looks like you are a big Krell fan - I am too. My recommendation would be the Krell KPS-28c, to match your other Krell components. While Krell sound may not to everyone's taste, I find the details, range extension, speed and dynamics of Krell comp...
A pass Labs X250 amp worth a divorce? Kevyo, I agree with what Goldorak said above. You have a great system as is, and changing the amp to Pass X250 will not make that much improvement, unless of course, your real objective is to upgrade your wife, and you are using the amp as an excu...
Does Krell Kav 250 & 300 cd players play cdr&cdrw I have a Krell KAV-250cd, and it does not play CDRs or CDRWs. It is quite selective and recognizes copies from originals. I have tried several brands of CDRs, and so far have found none to work on the 250. Hope this helps.
Yamaha RX-V1 Is it any better then the DSP A1 They should sound about the same, except that RX-V1 has a tuner because the A1 is only an integrated amp and the latter is a receiver.I used to own a Yamaha RX-V2095, which was one notch below the A1. A year later I wanted to upgrade to the AX-1 (...
Best amps for B&W N801's 50 music / 50 theater Sounds like your setup is something similar to mine. I also have B&W Nautilus 801s as main L/R speakers, but I use Matrix 801 S3s as rear surrounds, with Nautilus HTM-1 as center speaker.I have given up on using a two-channel amp to drive two ...
Call me very, very lucky Now you've got to capitalize on this opportunity to let her know that to really sound good in this new comfortable environment, you will need a much better system. Believe me, don't miss this chance to upgrade. You probably will not get another ch...
Most musical high-efficient 3-way bi-ampable spkr? If you are into classical or jazz music, you might consider the tried and tested B&W 801 Matrix S3 speakers. You can get a pair of them used for around $2,500. Given that you have 170 watts for the bass, your amps should be more than sufficien...
HT - Which processor Lexicon DC-1 should be in your price range. For HT, there's nothing better!!!
Used Krell KAV-500, 1500 and 250a/3? The Krell KAV-1500 is a terrific amp. I have B&W Nautilus 801 as my front left/right speakers, HTM-1 as center and Matrix 801 Series 3 as left/right surround speakers. I currently have all my speakers bi-amped. I use the KAV-1500 (5 channel @ ...
Which HT Receiver would you buy? I have found that all receivers are quite lacking in terms of good amplification. Also, I have found that there is not a lot of difference among DSPs in receivers.I used to own Yamaha RXV2095 receiver (list price around $1,600) and had wanted to u...
What would you do differently? I think you guys forgot to mention the kids as well, in addition to the wife. Although I love them all so dearly, I would definitely be in audio nirvana with the money that comes out of the monthly paycheck to support the family. I guess the world... |
