best position of components in relation to spkers?
I have noticed a worthwhile improvement when the rack is between the speakers, but five or six feet closer to the wall. Obviously not always an option. I also leave the rack door open 45 degrees to reduce reflections. My mono blocks are also almos...
Dan D'Agostino is back with a new line
Agreed - Petra D'Agostino: "We are not currently soliciting US dealers. Dan's official launch is at CES in the Venetian. We hope you stop by and see the new products!"
Devore Gibbon 3XLs: anyone have these?
I heard these at Goodwin's outside Boston, driven by ARC tube integrated and sourced by Nagra CD and dynavector/nagra vinyl. They were in a long wall setup in a medium to large room, not too far from the front wall, maybe two feet. I was perhaps t...

They look really nice, as long as the copper color looks better in life than in the photos. I do think the copper heat sinks are an answer in search of a question. Existing amps with big heat sinks do that in order to exchange enough heat to the a...
solid state vs tubes
Well, in 1985 there was the Carver challenge, where Bob Carver was able to set up his solid state amp so that the top stereophile editors could not distinguish it from Conrad Johnson's top amp at the time. He did this by tweaking his amp to duplic...
Krell / Mcintosh / Pass For Dynaudios
Audiofeil, your response is disingenuous. Since this thread is comparing Krell with Pass among others, you clearly have a horse in this race. In your opinion, it's unethical to say good things about Pass without a disclosure, but OK to trash Krell...
Krell / Mcintosh / Pass For Dynaudios
Audiofeil, you are a Pass Labs dealer, so you should not be criticizing Krell without disclosing that. If you continue to send me childish unpleasant personal emails, that will also reflect on your character, and you should not expect them to rema...

Make that "no disclaimer, Audiofeil?" :)
Krell EVO-1, FPB-750MCX or EVO-900
Short of actually listening, it would help to know how much power you're actually drawing now out of your 750's.How loud do you listen, how big and sound-absorbent is your room, and how far from the speakers do you sit? The Revels are power-hungry...
Any JC-1 owners use the 2nd set of spkr terminals?
You should be able to get a more convenient/solid connection with two sets of binding posts. I have never heard anyone claim that this produced a better sound . . .

Summertime ss amp Question
I've heard it briefly, but in a system I'm not familiar with. It did sound good though. Goodwin's is selling the demo - I think they would be glad to demo it if you are interested (and within shouting distance of Boston).Review on SoundstageReview...
