Wilson Sophia 2 vs B&W 802d If status is not a hangup for you, please find and the Pardigm S8's with good electronics(not anthem) for an audition. While I haven't heard the 802D or the Sophia's, I have auditioned the 802's and 3's in several setups. For my ears, the s8's are ...
Paradigm S4 Signature Series Speaker owners.... I have auditioned them in my home and heard them several times in the showroom and currently own the S8's. They do play very low. Most mfgr's do't try to go that low on one 7"(really 6")woofer. Paradigm did(I think unwisely)and it does sound very ...
Dali Helicon 400's or other with current Mac gear Try the Paradigm signature S8's, they sound great with mac gear, especially if you like to hear all the bass on the orignal track in an fast and authorative manner.
Is there a clear winner??? Revel F-50's are known to be "bright on some material". I auditioned them last year, they are a dated design, and I found they could be a little bright. I chose the Paradigm signature s8's which are a huge step up IMO, and for less money to boot. ...
Speakers to mate with McIntosh gear They are a little out of your price range, but Paradigms signature s8's are my current ownership experience. They are fantastic, the s4's are good if you listen to nothing with big bass, but the single woofer is somewhat overloaded
McIntosh MC402 power cord From my experience, this amp has a lot of bass with stock cords, it's not punchy, but it's deep. Thats macs sonic sig, I would look elsewhere than the PC.
Modding CDP's I give up. What are rolling tubes? Thanks all!
Does having an object inbetween the speakers bad? In my case, the speakers front edge needs to be at least 10" in front of my 64" rptv or the sound is deadened. Soundstage doesn't change much. Say a prayer and move the speakers out if you've got the WAF.
EQ's... why doesnt everybody have one? Kal said: "I have reviewed the Meridian 861 twice" I believe I have read every test done on this unit and only recall one inferrence to using it with a non-meridian source and that was not positive. And meridian tests never compare it directly wit...
EQ's... why doesnt everybody have one? Kal said:"There are many devoted owners of this marvelous device but they don't hang out here. Cost insane?" Please excuse the insane reference, I should have said "out of my range". May I divert this thread a bit toward the M861 since you may hav...
EQ's... why doesnt everybody have one? "The new TacT gear"... Tact, like Meridian is tuning their equipment for digital amplification. While I haven't been able to hear any of these myself, when reviewers say things like " at first it lacked air, but then I started to consider air to b...
EQ's... why doesnt everybody have one? Jafox-"the line stage and its cable to the amps...Any direct experiences or insights here to this specific concern of sonic degradation?"I'm using the parc with balanced wireworld eclipse 5 inters between a macC200 and classe cam-350's mono's. Spe...
EQ's... why doesnt everybody have one? DK- I think you will find as you progress to a more revealing system, you will hear a veiling from the Beringer. Your point about the tone controls is well taken though. I can't listen to 70% of my cd's on my new highly "resolving system". I'm act...
Subwoofers that do both L/R & LFE simultaneously? I thought the Neutrik was something other than an XLR and I thought it was used at the amps instead of the sub, now it all makes sense. I understand the REL's are highly musical, do the 12" REL's have the low extension and amplitude for HT? Thanks...
Subwoofers that do both L/R & LFE simultaneously? Can someone describe this Neutrik connector is detail? How many connections? You just slip it under the amps speaker outs on either the L or R channel? Can you use two subs? It does sound like something that might cause a different set of tranfere... |
