Recommendation all-rounded speaker (small room) Thanks so much for all your inputs and sharing. I have ordered SCM 11, hope it will serve me another 10, 20 years in my small room with privacy. Cheers to all !
Recommendation all-rounded speaker (small room) @newbee Unfortunately not in my listening room, I listened to both SCM7 and SCM 11 at distributor showroom, slighly bigger than mine by 20% , both are quite well performed, I prefer the latter as it may be easier to drive with larger volume.
Recommendation all-rounded speaker (small room) @ghdprentice basically listen mostly on Jazz / Classical , I tends to listen to relaxing music than shouty rock/pop . As i said, it depends on mood/stress ... No pre-amp, but integrated amp of Accuphase. Currently speaker is Sonus Faber Concertin...
An upgrade ? From Sonus Faber to Harberh speaker @rsf507 Interesting...May I know why Harbeth is not recommended in your opinion? What about ATC bookshelves passive speakers like SCM 7, SCM 11 , etc
An upgrade ? From Sonus Faber to Harberh speaker Firstly, thanks all for your valuable comments and recommendation. @akg_ca Accuphase E280 amp , source from Auralic Aries Mini and external DAC with AKM 4499 on Roon platform. @ryder hi, I just sold my 400xi lately , moving to small room, need a...
ATC SCM 7 V.3 and Hi Brad, yes, that's the Fletcher Munson effect . That's why now several amplifier manufacturer has "loudness" button to deattenutate. Besides that, I also noticed the few remastered album from Tidal is more "loudness" as I observed from Roon...
ATC SCM 7 V.3 and With AAVA (Accuphase Analog Vari-gain Amplifier) technology of Accuphase, possible SCM7 can be listened at low level volume without sound degrading ?
ATC SCM 7 V.3 and Besides SCM7 , I will audition 10 years old Harbeth Compact 7ES-2 for comparison, the latter draws my interest for more musical and natural sound and could listen at low volume level ...what do you guys thing about C7ES2 ?
ATC SCM 7 V.3 and @yogiboy thanks for your recommendation on Falcon, having checked our local distributor, there's no Falcon Q7 here, but LS3/5a, it's overpriced here at USD 4k. @digsmithd I hope SCM7 will sound good at low level listening in view of small roo...
ATC SCM 7 V.3 and @yogiboy LS3/5a was my shortlisted speakers like Harbeth, Rogers, etc. But they are above $1800 budget . Will scout for used perhaps, I like musical speaker , listening to music, natural timbre and not equipment. thanks for your recommendation @...
ATC SCM 7 V.3 and Guys @lanx0003 @digsmithd thanks for your insight and sharing. FYI, i just sold my 200W Krell KAV-400xi amp after moving to small room, otherwise it should easily drive SCM7. I have asked ATC distributor, they said E280 (damping factor 500) ab...
Recommended integrated amplifier for upgrade Appreciate all your feedback . Initially I was interested on ASR report, as I read more , I feel their review are biased. I got my first edition of Topping D90 replacing my decade old Cambridge audio DAC Magic after ASR review. Thanks @snapoli2 ...
Recommended integrated amplifier for upgrade Too clean, too analytical, it sounds dry thus boring and fatigue over time. Thus, prefer slight warm, analogue and musical soundstage. I was thinking about tube hybrid amplifier but it could be too warm and need maintenance on tube or tube rollin...
Recommended integrated amplifier for upgrade @jasonbourne52 i am using Topping D90 AKM 4499 DAC (warmer than ESS 2nd edition D90) from Auralic Aries Mini to Krell via balanced XLR . I believe Topping PA5 is more suitable for desktop monitor speaker , I prefer musical and warm sound.
Recommended integrated amplifier for upgrade Wow, many thanks for all your sharing and thoughts. Understand and heard Audio Research are good match with Sonus Faber, my current Krell was also a good match , that’s 15 years ago and not the new Krell . I prefer slight warm, musical with w... |
