Thought My Harbeth M40.1's Were Forever Speakers - Guess Not Nice I'm really enjoying my 40.2's - took awhile to get the placement right in the room but once you get them dialed in they're fantastic. They seem to play well to all genres of music better than I expected and I really like the way they portray t...
Any good shelf systems out there? Pair a Yamaha CRX-N470 with a pair of PSB P5 or whatever other reasonably efficient bookshelves you want to use and you have a killer little shelf system.Probably more than a few hundred but it'll last the test of time.Pretty sure Denon still has ...
Denon Turntable DP 15F runs backwards ! Just wait for the effects to wear off you'll be fine...
Rega Brio Replacement Be careful - the Brio is tough to beat for the price. Why not add a streamer like SONOS or Bluesound and keep the amp?I believe Audiolab has a small all in one unit that might suit you or NAD has a couple of small footprint amps with Bluetooth like...
Does anyone know if Bluesound Node 2i Streamer/Dac is being updated soon. Digital is constantly becoming old technology no point in trying to keep up.That said I doubt they'll refresh the Node 2i for a couple years as it's a great device and must be selling well for them so they'll likely leave well enough alone for awh...
Kef LS50 Wireless - optimal configuration The Bluesound Node 2i would be an obvious upgrade but I totally agree that you should move to lossless streaming first. The Connect sounds pretty good via it's optical output into an external dac on it's own.
Who has the Technics SL-1500c turntable? I've heard it through it's built in Phono preamp and it sounds great - it's also built like a tank very solid build quality.I don't think you can go wrong on this one great table and it has 2 sets of outputs so you can always upgrade the Phono pre...
Back Where I Should Be; The Acoustic Zen Adagio, Round 2 Nice - my last "best speaker under $5,000" quest lead me to the Adagio and I greatly enjoyed my time with them.I'd love to hear a pair of the Cresendos at some point people seem to rave about that speaker as well. The Adagio is a fun and relatively...
LampizatOr Amber (original version) There is an "MQA external DAC" toggle switch in the audio settings on the Bluesound - might be worth checking to make sure it's off.
Upgrade cartridge or turntable? I'd throw a Dynavector 20 XL or whatever suits your budget on the table - the Planar 4 can definitely handle a big cartridge upgrade no problem.
Qutest vs Yggdrasil Analog 2 vs Gungnir Multibit Not exactly but I went from 2qute->Yggdrasil and they were definitely completely different animals. The Chord was laser sharp and detailed and had a very modern audiophile sound, the Yggy in comparison is definitely more laid back and seems to...
Optical or coax? Generally speaking Coax is the way to go for audio because it's a simpler transfer of information. As I understand it optical takes an electrical signal and converts it to light and then back to an electrical signal so there is more of a chance of ...
Bookshelf speakers for a NAD C368 integrated amp I've heard the C368 on a pair of LS50's and would not recommend it.The PSB X2T are a perfect match for your amp and yes the new Alphas will also work great as well.Monitor Audio or Dali might be worth looking into as well at that price point...
Outdoor Networked Speakers If you like Bluesound grab a Powernode 2i and wire a pair of outdoor speakers and you're good to go.The larger PSB outdoors sound fantastic if you have a good amp to drive them Bluesound should be a perfect match.
How many of you believe in MQA? I've done the A/B twice with MQA - once with my Node 2 analog out vs Chord 2qute and once with a Node 2i analog out vs Schitt Yggdrasil and the outboard DAC easily won both times playing at 24/96.It's an easy A/B to set up see what your ears like.... |
