Need help What monoblock power amps for bass?
Price range - well,it depends.Sinfonia is tri-wired.So SS monos will drive either one 12" woofer only (one connection),either that 12" woofer plus another 12" woofer and one 7" mid-bass (other connection).If 30 W/ch 320B XLS SET proves good/very g...
Need help What monoblock power amps for bass?
Thanks a lot Atma.Your knowledge always helps a lot.I think Sinfonia was designed for bi-amplification (actually for tri-amplification).In the case of the passive crossover allowing for bi-amplification, it does seem to sound better than using an ...
Review: Cambridge Audio 640a Integrated Amplifier
This amp is great for the money spent. It sounds clean, extended, even a bit warm if paired with right gear.I have one for 2 years now.It was tested in few systems, including with Silverline Sinfonia speakers (20 000 $).I am more than satisfied with i...

What about shunt-type attenuator?I am thinking about ordering a pair of Endler's attenuators, connected straight into power amp(these already have RCA plug joined with them,so there is no interconnect cable to drive from preamp to power amp). Why no...

Need help What monoblock power amps for bass?
Hi Atma,Nice to talk to you again.I know that impendance on each section (speaker is tri-wired) never changes more than +/- 10%.Also,the whole speaker (if connected to one amp) acts exactly the same.8 ohm stable, +/- 10% maximum.Seems an easy load...

Hi Shadorne,I agree with you.Unfortunatelly,i have no acess to data on Q factor of my speaker.I enjoyed reading your post on other thread.Underdog,I thought about the idea of the 6 same monos.I was talked out of it.Plus i heard for myself in my sy...
TADs SS Hibachi Amps
Thanks to both of you,Marty and Shadorne. These are both very good explanations.I now understand what this means. My speakers have very impressive and efficient bass output. However,in order to see in what category they fit (over or under or just rig...

TADs SS Hibachi Amps
What about bass response? If i order these amps, they will be used for the bass drivers only.I intend to use a SET amp on the tweeter and mid driver.Volume control(in TAD-125) is a bonus in this set-up.The areas i am looking for in the bass are - s...
TADs SS Hibachi Amps
Yes, it would be interesting to hear something from someno who has used these. They seem like an interesting product.Does anyone know do they use bipolar or MOSfet transistors?
Long runs - USB or RCA???
Why not use a USB/SP DIF converter?Use a short USB cable to converter and then long digital RCA cable from converter to DAC.I currently do so in my office.I use 10 metres (22 feet) of digital cable. Results are great.USB signal is usually also conv...
CDP with volume and digital input...Which one?
I chose to try a Quad CDP-2...For some time it will be my reference player. Untill funds allow an upgrade.I still want to go in "one box solution" way, only next time i will go with the player little more expensive. Then Quad will move to my bedroom.
Which HIGH-END Player/DAC/Volume Control?
Hey Arbuckle,i put up a similar thread few weeks ago.it was called "CDP with volume and digital input..Which one?"Look it up.A few players were mentioned.I also like slam and non-fatiguing sound...Also very dynamic one.The players mentioned were D...
Cambridge 840C, YES it is as good as the reviews
Has anyone compared this unit to similar priced Quad CD-P2?I've read a review in Hi-fi world which says these two are close contenders, but gives a little advantage to Quad.
