Developing A List Of Tonearm Candidates For A SOTA Turntable @neonknight re your VTA question. In summary if you / anyone doesn't want to read the 'process' below. My MC Diamond is not set at what would be above the specified 23 deg to achieve a 90 deg diamond angle, but at nearer 25 to achieve closer to t...
Developing A List Of Tonearm Candidates For A SOTA Turntable @neonknight I am also curious to see what you have thought about the Agile against your previous arms because I have one. Perhaps you have just been too busy listening, I hope so! I am fortunate (though it has meant I have 'jumped up' the range...
critique my setup -- weak link? best way to improve? @matthijs with an OM10 you won’t get much benefit changing to something like a 2M Red. There are OM upgrades but I’ve never tried beyond a 10. When you change next time (if you like ortofon) it might be worth going to a 2M base. You can fit any of...
IsoAcoustics GAIA Vote for with the carpet spikes. I ran one with one without and switched L to R channels, same test I did with and without GAIA's.
IsoAcoustics GAIA Slight aside to the topic, though I do have Gaia's. Installing was made significantly easier using a couple of small inflatable liftbags about £10/$15. You still need somebody to steady them, but nobody is having to take the weight.
What's my best upgrade options Mainly in line with @goheelz if you have a lot of vinyl already then TT and perhaps phono stage, I have Origin Live (OL) decks and arms in ranges from £3k to over £25k and recently obtained (with a view to it being a starter for a friend) a Rega 3...
Integrated Amps Whilst noting comments to my input of the NAD C399 that its not the warmest of amps (none of the Hypex are) it does also have an E-ARC HDMI, so probably simplest connection for you from the TV. With regard to the speakers if they are similar pric...
Integrated Amps @bipod72 as @ghdprentice noted, whilst appreciating your primary interest in the Billie, looking at the costs of others you noted such as the PS Audio one for potential consideration might be the NAD C399. It has a just about everything uprate...
critique my setup -- weak link? best way to improve? @matthijs First of all as others have alluded, what is your budget either for total or how much potentially a year if you were looking to do it in steps. If the latter is your route, as below its obviously going to be important for you to take...
Need Opinions for Different Cable Manufacturers/Cable Designs I am not going to recommend a make, though I have Focal Utopia’s and what I use does sound excellent with them, but might push your budget because you don’t tend to find them used, for good reason. What I do suggest is that whilst good design of e...
Refurbished / Re-tipped Cartridges - Are they worth Buying? Regarding Manufacturers using newer methods or parts. I had an interesting experience of 'older' and very similar upgraded versions. I have an Ortofon MC Anna Diamond that I bought used from a dealer I trust, but partly on the basis that the pric...
Subwoofer Advice @navyachts I will have a look at Steve Huff’s, I just knew the other guy had reviewed the Kefs and SVS Micro’s. If Buchardt did something a little bigger, say a 12 or 13 size wise they would be great for my rear set up. But if those 10’s are big ...
Subwoofer Advice Another potential for your consideration. Just seen a review by Nemo Propaganda on youtube of the Buchardt Sub10 where it was compared to both the Kef and the SVS 3000 Micro. Different form factor to the KEF but has a good app and a level of buil...
Subwoofer Advice @navyachts "you have 5 subs in your room, with another two on their way?" I have 5 in the room but the two rears were down firing ported studio because I could not at the time get a front firing that would fit and was balanced. But recently I ha...
Subwoofer Advice @navyachts You are welcome, the room I have the micro's in is 27 x 15, but no 'space off' and notwithstanding my and others on the SB1000's, etc., They manage, with two other 10" subs in the rear corners to pressurise. I am not disagreeing with... |
