I have NOVA V's and I am not happy
I'm not an SS guy, but I don't think its the ML. And I'll probably get some SF blowback here, but the post-Franco tweeters have not been hot per se, but they ain't shy either.  If you want to keep the SF's, look to stick a Cardas Golden Ref IC in...
SF Cremonese Q
Oh, and had a chance to listen again to the new SF tweeters at AXPONA last year.  You know, the tweeter isn't "hot" per se, but its more of a de4sign choice to load energy into the highs. I'd prefer a speaker designer to shoot for a balance of pr...

BTW, folks, bought a Phaeton during the pandemic...one of the worst SS amps I've ever heard. Wow, so unimpressed. Chassis was cheap for $30K too. Popped the top and not much better in there either. What a rip; the reviewers should be embarrassed. ...
Shunyata KING COBRA VX V1 `i` - thoughts on this power cord
Thanks, aniwolfe. Well, blanketing is never good. Just have to see....if its no good, then out it goes!

BTW, aniwolfe, I will putting back together my main system over the next year or so, from scratch. And will probably go with Hijiri Takumi PCs there.

Lak: I don't like adapters. No experience necessarily, just a starting principle. Granted, this could just be nostalgia on my part. Aniwolfe: which component/s did you have it hooked to?
Shunyata KING COBRA VX V1 `i` - thoughts on this power cord
I just bought a V1i 20A cord, having Shunyata re-term the IEC to 15A for me...we'll see. Putting it on an old Sony CD player in a 2nd system (probably a sacrilege for some...I have a little Siltech on it  now), but this system is quite pure, show...
Jadis JA80 MKII, it Is a Legend!
Sam, do you still have the JA-80 MkII's? Did you ever get a chance to hear the Jadis KT-170 integrated? I am considering the later mated with Sonus Faber Elipsa SE's (magic + magic, as it were).   JA-80's with KT-170's would be nice...

Looking for a V1 "i" if anyone is moving on from theirs....
Jadis JA30 Mk2, how great???
I had a Defy 7 25 yrs ago - beautiful thing. Lugging it over to bias was a pain. Mine never blew up, but finding matched NOS outputs was a challenge, even back then.I'm retiring in a year and thinking about my "final" (ha!) system in a 16 X 17 roo...
Refurbish Fidelity Research Tonearms
I need more butter on my popcorn...Now, if we can just get Nandric and Dertoarm in here and then stir that pot good (maybe with a good 'ole radical subjectivism vs. scientific materialism debate, throw in some hot peppers) then we might have a rea...
Tinnitus sufferer: is it the speakers or the 24bits/192kHz
You need, "pure."I have the same affliction.Sonus Faber Guarneri speakers  run by Jadis JA30's...NOS inputs....something like micro oval gold ICs....Start there.
SF Cremonese Q
Well, gentlemen, a question: the Phaethon's output impedance is 0.5 ohm and I've read that, nevertheless, it's driven many kinda-difficult-load speakers, i.e. Hansen's et al.SF specifies a min. 100W amp, but cites a 4 ohm load (and no info on dips...
SF Cremonese Q
Thanks, Keithr, for the input. That helps. I'm thinking that I might actually like the silk dome versus the newer berylIium-diamond-micro dust-deposited-in-a-vaccum, or whatever (and that seems to be the new tweeter de riguer these days..). And I ...

Thanks, Gregm!davey, good points, and I have thought about the Strads. It will be a fairly large great room (at least, that's the plan...) so the Cremonese seemed to fit the bill in terms of energizing that space. When the COVID bubble lifts, I'll...
