VSA 4- jrs
I have used outriggers on many of my speakers including the VS4jr. They work great! Stability + decoupling + looks great. Can't ask for anything better. Heres a link - I am not associated with these folks...just wanna point out what I am using.htt...
Supratek out of business
I won' be selling mine! Somehow I have a feeling that will be the prevailing atitude of most owners. Mick said in the supratek thread he might make a few Chards now and again in the future, but I wouldn't hold my breathe... so I suspect ownership ...
Ayre K1xe vs. Simaudio P7, P8
Don't discount the Sim evolution products lightly. I have the W8 Amp and would not trade it for anything under 20K. The integrates are obviously of the same technology. Best to find a dealer and listen to it instead of listening to opinions here. ...
Preamp Deal of the Century
If this is true, the few that own Suprateks should consider themselves extremely lucky, as this preamp will be a classic if it isn’t already – I have very little doubt in my mind about that. It is gracious of Mick to continue to support folks wh...
Von Schweikert VR4SR vs VR5SE
Runemigge,I have spent a great deal of time listening to the VR5 (not the anniversary edition but the regular SE ones) at my dealer. It is very revealing of what is being played, not sure if I would go as far as to say ‘ruthlessly revealing’ to th...
Von Schweikert VR4SR vs VR5SE
RunemiggeGood choice with the VR4jr. They are not as ultimately refined as the VR5SE but IMO they can be as good as the VR4SR if your auxileries are up to the task and you don't need the SPLs. Get a good Tube preamp and you are set for a good whil...
Von Schweikert synergy
I use a Supratek Preamp and Sim audio W8 with VR4jr, sound is just incredible, can't imagine things getting any better, until I get my VR5SE of course. Hehehehe. I have tried various amps/pre combos and I find high power stuff sounds best, with tu...
Preamp Deal of the Century
Sorry - scratch my last post guys... I was browsing thru this monsterous thread and came upon Timchen's post and responded to it thinking it was recent. Its like from 2002 ...yikes . This thread has been around for so long...unreal. I gotta pay be...
Preamp Deal of the Century
Timchen"what I am saying is why should I trust these users?" I don't think anyone here wants you to trust them. Most could care less. This thread IMO has evolved into more of an information forum about Suprateks by people who have taken the 'risk'...
VTL 2.5 with Simaudio W-3
I have a W5 and a W8 and have a Supratek. I have heard the W3 and its got the same signature as its big brother, the W5. Get a Supratek and you will be done! The 3000+ thread is not hype, this preamp is amazing!Good listening
Preamp Deal of the Century
A Preamp on batteries. Sounds interesting. Can't help to think battery powered anything will eventually need replacing or will degrade over time as it charges and expends...(hell, I am on my 6th rechargable battery for my phone and it drives me nu...
Linn Akurate CD vs. others
I heard it in an all Linn system and I prefered the 1.1. The dealer swapped the Akurate with the unidisk 1.1 he had on hand - in and out of the same setup - and the 1.1 was just more musical and more toe tappin compared to the Akurate IMO . Both h...
Preamp Deal of the Century
Any Supratek owners own Merlin speakers. Just curious if this is a good synergy. As with any combo I realize YMMV but I am just looking for impressions from any owners. Any feedback would be helpful.good listening
Have you heard the latest Merlin VSM-MXe speakers?
Tabl10sAh yes … the “50 years of putting systems together” should have been a big hint Skooks would not be able to help me with some of the music genres I mentioned . Sorry bout that. But maybe other VSM owners can chime in with their experiences ...
Have you heard the latest Merlin VSM-MXe speakers?
What kind of music do you listen too? How are they with Rock, metal, industrial, prog rock, pop, and electronic? I too have been thinking about these speakers but because 80% of my listening is the genres I just listed I am very skeptical that eve...
