Class D while they sounded fine, they did not have the depth, or crunch of a nice class A/AB amp. high priced amps are paying for the same old routine.Crown makes great class D amps, as does QSC, your paying for the name and advertiising, not sound. get a...
An audio rack that really does make a difference. odyssey makes some VERY NICE racks!!!! heavy, tight, nice looking ! check em out www.odysseyaudio.com HAHAHAHAH, and NO, a rack will not improve sound, or add more air, or enveloping sound, guitar floating in the air to your ears, etc etc.its a r...
Thoughts on placing amps on stone/tile base We use a top o the line cutting board.put several cherry stain coats on it.looks nice. Keeps the amp out of a rack. Marble, wood, tile, etc.....it all sounds the same. A home improvement store is fun, tons of outdoor concrete blocks, marble, etc,...

What's your favorite lyric from a song? Way too many lyrics. What comes to mind is humble pie. “Newcastle brown, it’ll sure smack ya down”
What genre tends to be recorded in the most satisfying fashion? Heavy metal
Class D Class D - lifeless. Midrange, no depth, no crunchhighs, , subdued, lifeless.bass ok, but no feeling, dry and tight. Not,for me.A or A/AB is the ticket to enjoyment.
Does my power of receiver match the power of the speaker needed? @russ69. Ur correct, don’t try to use the full amp power, even if speaker is rated as such, the tweeters will fry fast. Use best judgement, n enjoy the music. I’ve used no less than 300W rms since the late 80s til present.
Does my power of receiver match the power of the speaker needed? You will need more power for the song ending power chord/drum slam.and crescendos, guitar, drum solos. Sure 100w will work, do you want realism, or to clip your amp during that part when you jack up the volume.? 15+ receivers, integrateds, stereo ...
Streaming Spotify complete album, but some cuts are not the original album version Learned long time ago, after wasting a,lot of money on “best of” lp’s’ CDs. Most best of CDs cut the beginning, or middle, the end, cut seconds of many songs.from then on, only buy the full album or cd.
Amp/Preamp Recommendations There is 500+ combinations out there. Give a listen if you can. Pass, carver, odyssey, threshold, McCormack, Sanders, so many. Happy hunting.
Compatibility between preamp and amps Had a huge worry myself, while u sing a Sanders “the preamp” with a McCormack mono pair. Volume would not start until I hit almost 40 or 50 on my vol knob. Turns out, it’s made that way, same with my McCormack preamp.I’m fine now. |
