Integrated Amp Question for a Newbie to the Forum
Personally I think the Hegal and Yamaha suggestions are really safe bets.
Why so many angry audiophiles?
Well said Mapman. Couldn't agree more.Though I am in reasonably good heath for my age I'm also reasonably fat. Gotta do a little less listening and a little more running.
Tube Amplifiers: Carver Crimson 75 wpc or Primaluna Monoblocks
I cant give you much of any recommendation but oh boy can I relate to your comment. I recently moved to a new house and I don’t trust the movers to move my stereo stuff. I should have let the movers move my stereo stuff. I’m way older and way fatt...
Is Carl Bernstein an Audiophile?
dadork, "who cares?"I'm pretty sure the op does, hence the question.
Does Age Matter?
51 and 100% digital. In fact 100% streaming tidal for the last two years. I really like the guy’s comment who said he was 50 but preferred 25. I get it buddy.
Anybody added a full vinyl setup to system? And?
While I listened to a lot of music as a kid I didn’t start buying music till I started high school in the mid 80’s. Yes, as a tiny tot I listened and played records on my sisters’ record players (notice I didn’t say turntables) but the bulk of my ...

Article: "Spin Me Round: Why Vinyl is Better Than Digital"
I have found people who prefer digital say digital is better. Those that prefer vinyl say just the opposite. That settles that.
What piece(s) of gear did you sell/give away that you would like to have back?
JM lab Mini Utopias. I’m not sure why I got rid of them in the first place. Just the hope for more better I guess. But what is funny is thinking about the old great stuff I had in the beginning only to be disappointed when hearing it again. That’s...
How old are you?
I just celebrated the 30th anniversary of my 21st birthday.
When was the first time that you heard great sounding speakers?
Martin Logan’s in the late 80’s at a local stereo shop. Can’t remember which ones but that kind of blew me away. Oddly enough over the last thirty years I’ve only owned one pair of ML’s for maybe a year or so. But that first impression early in my...
Can an “audiophile” ever be satisfied with a system?
“Can an “audiophile” ever be satisfied with a system?“Absolutely! Until they’re not.
Member Almarg passed away last night
My goodness that’s sad. Not to sound too selfish but we’ve lost a great member and a great resource of information. A gentleman. I wish his family well.
Has anyone else auditioned something that really was terrible?
I would have said the GoldenEar Triton 1. I listened to them at my local dealer and it sounded like something was broken. After that experience I was convinced GE was terrible. Two months later I went to Axpona and the Triton 1’s were teamed up wi...
FREE ! DCM Time Frame TF 500 Speakers
Very nice offer nitrobob! If I were a little closer I would take you up on that. My very first pair of speakers I bought right out of high school in the late 80’s were DCM Time Frame 250’s, the baby brother of the ones you are offering. Up to that...
