Sonore Opticalrendu vs Auralic Aries G1.1 While I don't own Auralic, I have a Zenith MK3 and also had an opticalRendu before I sold it. I compared the Zenith and opticalRendu side by side and found the Zenith to be better. They're both good but Zenith gets you much closer to the so-called...
Streamer Recommendation. The truth is that most folks would vouch for whatever brands they happen to own. Most have never done an extended in-home comparison between multiple brands at the same time. For example, if you’re an Aurender user, you would claim that it’s the b...
Streamer Recommendation. +1 for Auralic. if you can use a mesh system as suggested earlier than Innuos Zenith should also be a contender — you can rip cd’s and the unit can also optionally run as a Roon server. Once you get the streamer, I highly suggest a passive filter...
Is there such a thing as a FOREVER DAC/streamer? A dac that makes beautiful music today will make beautiful music 10 years from now as long as it is built with quality parts. The simple truth is that many people who have invested in a better dac mostly switch for the sake of trying something new...
Luxman 509x vs Hegel H390 About three years ago I auditioned Hegel 390, Luxman 509x, and Luxman 590axii. They were all nice in their own way, but the 590AXII was just so much better to my ears that I ended up with it. I made the mistake of selling it to fund another purch...
DAC suggestions +1 for Denafrips … and they play DSD all the way up to 1024. IMO, the Terminator 2 dac is a great value. Holo Audio also makes excellent dacs that are as good if not better than Denafrips. They also do DSD very well.
12'x16'x8' room OK for good stand mounts? Joseph Audio in a heartbeat. Your room is about right for bookshelf speakers. However, if you go with JA, make sure you have at least 3 feet clearance from the wall behind the speakers. If you can, the JAs will give you a deep and wide soundstage ...
Suggestion for $10K soup to nuts digital? I highly recommend Innuos Zenith MK3 as the streamer. It is an excellent server, steamer, Cd ripper, and plenty of local storage. If you ever want to get into Roon, it can act not only as a Roon endpoint but also Roon core server. Secondly, it’s ...
What speakers have you mistakenly let go and then later repurchased? Harbeth P3esr in my second system. There was something unassuming yet special about the speakers. I’ll probably buy another pair next year.
Best Dedicated Streamer @jonwolfpell- not only is Innuos a Roon endpoint as you mentioned, it can also serve as a Roon server. I have ripped many CDs through my Innuos Zenith and I agree that it sounds as good if not better than expensive CD transports.
Boulder 866 vs Gryphon Diablo 300 Congrats! You can never go wrong with a Luxman. I had the 590AXII and still wish I hadn’t sold it. They sound as beautiful as they look. The extension, refinement, and richness of sound is a great combo. This is truly a statement piece.

SkyfiAudio Summer sale .. I guess it means their prices are only 60% higher during this period than others.
In-Store (Best Buy) KEF R3 vs B&W 705 S2 Comparison Sometimes auditioning speakers at dealer showrooms is like buying a tv at a busy store. The one that is calibrated to be the most prominent might grab your attention and look better than others, but once you take it home it gets a bit too much of ...
Sonus Faber speakers - what's your experience? They’re wonderful speakers that do many things right and look gorgeous as well. If you’re looking for neutral or detail monsters, they might not be for you as they tend to be a little on the romantic side of things. I owned Olympica II and really ... |
