Harbeth 40.3 and 40.2 Anniversary I have heard the 40.3 at a dealer but did not had an opportunity to compare them side by side with my 40.2, so take my opinion with a sizable grain of salt. From what I heard, the 40.3 has a more airy, extended treble compared to 40.2. It's not a ...
Decisions, decisions, decisions I know OP didn’t like Russ69’s suggestion and I can see why. However, that’s really good advice IMO.
MoFi or Harbeth (used) My concern with Mofi, as is the case with all Andrew Jones speakers, is that after the initial intro dealers just start discounting them like crazy which has a detrimental affect on resale value. Harbeth is a known quantity and if you buy used can...
Pass Labs INT-25 Integrated amp paired with Harbeth 30.2 XD speakers @philsons i want to share an interesting story. A few years ago, I owned 30.1s that I was using in my home office with a tube amp. They sounded quite good. I decided to sell them since I had upgraded to SHL5+ and didn’t want to keep too many speak...
JA Pulsars vs Harbeth 30.2 Definitely go for the 30.2 if you’re planning to audition. Harbeth has tuned the 30.2 to be a bit more open and airy (better treble) compared to the 30.1. If you feed it with good amplification it will not be ‘soft’ at all. What it won’t do is to ...
QLN Prestige 3 OP is your room treated? I’ve found that when you find a speaker fatiguing, it’s not always the speaker. Sometimes more detailed speakers are simply shining a light on your room deficiencies. If your room is well treated, feel free to ignore my po...
JA Pulsars vs Harbeth 30.2 Harbeths need a beefy amp to drive them. If they sound thin or soft, usually because the amp is not powerful enough to drive them. But yes compared to Joseph Audio or Focal etc, they’re not treble-focused.
JA Pulsars vs Harbeth 30.2 One more thing, Harbeths will never sound thin. Whether you like them or not, one thing they’re not is thin sounding.
JA Pulsars vs Harbeth 30.2 Both Harbeth 30.2 and JA Pulsars are excellent speakers but they’re not going for the same buyer profile IMO. 30.2 is more of a monitor speaker and has a distinct sound. I would never advise anyone to buy the 30.2 without listening. You will eithe...
Borresen X3 vs Harbeth 40.2 -- my impressions @prof I wanted to collect my thoughts before responding to your question :) if I have to rank the three speakers, it would be like this: Harbeth 40.x > JA Perspective2 > Harbeth SHL5+ When I replaced the SHL5+ with JA Perspective2's it w...
Borresen X3 vs Harbeth 40.2 -- my impressions @thermo Thank you for chiming in. I really appreciate your post. Just like you, I put an equal emphasis on opinions/reviews shared by average joe's like us and not seasoned/paid reviewers. In fact, some of my best buys were influenced by average j...
Borresen X3 vs Harbeth 40.2 -- my impressions @macg19 Looking at your TT, I think you are just scratching the surface of your vinyl potential (pun intended). I am fairly new to the analog world. To be honest, my focus up until this point has been improving the digital front-end as much ...
Borresen X3 vs Harbeth 40.2 -- my impressions @macg19 @arafiq You have a really nice and obviously very well thought out rig. What are you thinking for your next cart? Actually, thanks for reminding me that I have made a few changes to my system in the last few months, and forgot to upd...
Borresen X3 vs Harbeth 40.2 -- my impressions lol at 'factual statements' -- please share your source please.
Borresen X3 vs Harbeth 40.2 -- my impressions @fishagedone As someone who previously owned both SF Olympica 2 and 3, I am forever in your debt for showing me the error of my ways. How dare I prefer the crappy box, otherwise known as Harbeth 40.2, over the magnificent Sonus Faber. I think you ... |
