May I suggest the Audible Illusions L2. It the remote version of the M3A. I sold my M3a ONLY because I wanted a remote. I can assure you that you wont be dissapointed in this tubed pre. The M3a has mm and high mc capability..the L2 doesnt, but doe...

Brass screw tweak, seen in Virtual Dynamics video.
I used "brass" screws instead of the oh so typical steel bolts that we are all so accustomed to seeing on Mrs Frankensteins neck, on my wife...and I must admit, her shrieks were almost tolerable. NOW THATS A TWEAK!!!

I hear that if you gold plate the piece and wrap a diamond chain around it...it could very well go for considerably more than the original price. OR, get you some funny looks!

Let me make a correction...I have a MELODY SP7...interchangeable with ONYX SP3...except for the 38 vs 45 watt difference.

Gamut D200 Mrk II hum/buzz issue
It actually has balanced inputs...thats what I primarily use for connection. But I havnt tried the shorting of the IC's. I have also tried using a power cord that has no ground connection. No change. Thank you for your suggestion.

Unfortunately I have tried that also. I was told that you can access the switches with a toothpick instead of removing the top btw. Thanks for your time.

I was reading you post earlier Drubin...thank you for your time. Unfortunately for me, its not mechanical...the damn noise comes out of the speaker. Its not very loud...but annoying when you know it should not be there.

Audible Illusions Modulud 3A...(I love saying that). Its around 800-1200 used. Tubed pre. Go for the L2 version if you can (comes with remote). Amazing pre for half of what your willing to pay. Look it up on google and here in the forums...its an ...

...this is what I tell my wife...kids...and anyone else who needs to know: IF I CANNOT FIND TIME TO RELAX...IM USELESS. Relax = anything you need to do to reach short term equilibrium...period. Kids have too many activities...CUT SOME OUT....wife ...
